I am really pleased that you are liking my designs - I have just submitted the changes for you. This is a great site for people to get logo's from, especially since it's global but I do love it when I do well in an aussie based contest...
And can you add a gloss/plastic/highlight effect to the end result to give it a bit more lift?
We likely will only use the plainer version for t-shirts, etc - but I'm looking for some zing in the main logo to be used on screen / in power points.
What do you think about a weave / slight texture effect through-out the blue - perhaps something / an embossed image of the Opera House repeated many times?
Or would a subtle change in the hue of the blue from top to bottom give the same textured effect? When this logo is up on the big screen at the Convention centre and used for flags, etc - we need something to give it a different look from just plain colour (if I'm making myself clear?)
I am just uploading your alterations as well as a few options re: jazzing it up a bit...I can make these changes to whatever final design you choose, please let me know if there is anything else.
Still happy that you are liking my design but I have just noticed that you have extended the competition and I needed to let you know that I am going away on Friday for a week (my brother is getting married) and I won't have access to my computer.
No problem re: heading away. We'll make a decision (have sent to our committee) by midnight Wednesday your time - and if deemed the winner, you can upload the file on Thursday and I'll download it on Friday.
Working on the #75 entry.
Can you insert the location and date text (as in #69)
Can you give the Opera House image a slight drop shadow.
I'm mindful of your time restraints and travel away to your brothers wedding (good luck by the way and hoping that you have great day weather-wise for the bride and groom). We'll work around your timeframe as needed.
There won't be any more revisions for your work and I'm really happy with our final result - I love the purple version.
As mentioned, we're gone to committee stage which is five other folk, and a couple are slow to respond with any comments or suggestions.
My apologies - but as you can see, we have only two designs to consider so i'm hoping I'll hear from them in the next few hours.
As a FYI, I'm actually sitting in St. Petersburg, Russia at the moment (my wife comes from here and we're expecting our first baby within the next 3-7 days), so hence the time differences and funny log-in times for me.
I'll come back to you when I get a result / final selection.
Thanks for your feedback Stan - I am actually taking my laptop away with me now as I have too much work that I need to keep an eye on....so the time thing isn't a factor now...
All the very best with the arrival of your first bub...exciting times
Thanks for the best wishes - indeed, exciting stuff. World will turn upside down and all that - we know!
Sorry - I'm working your logo to death...
Logo #120.
Can we fatten up the 2012 so there is less white space between the numbers? - I think it will balance the image a little better from top to bottom. Maybe a different font? Something still classic and clean-cut but less run-of-the-mill wallpaper-ish. Something with a stylized zero perhaps? How about the inside space of the zero is italic while the outside shape is normal? Something along those lines as the number font is too skinny and plain at the moment.
Once that's done, happy to announce that your logo will stay at number 1 and be selected as the winner! I'm doing this now because I know we can do revisions after the winner is selected.
After the competition finishes, we may work on the logo a little more just for the version that will be used on the big screen. It will be things like adding detail or depth to the Opera House edges, maybe the corners of the rectangle will have a patterned rim - just because it's so large for the power point version, it's practical to add detail that you can't see on the version here - which is what will be used for advertising the Convention, postcard mail-out's, etc.
A stripped-down version in two colours, similar to your early designs and without the small text in the top left corner will be used for t-shirts and simple reproductions.
Thanks in advance for all your efforts and revisions.
Any baby news yet?? Thanks again for the new feedback - I thought that I had been voted out of contention...I have been travelling all day as I live an hour north of Sydney and the wedding is up at Port Douglas which is near Cairns (top of Queensland)....a big day...here are a few new options with different fonts (let me now if you would like to see more)....and I am more than happy to make further adjustments once it is over...
