Slogan

Expanding Horizons, Exploring Possibilities.

What We Do

The west region of AEE holds an annual conference where educators, therapists, corporate trainers and outdoor educators gather to discuss and learn about current trends in the field of "Experiential Education."
We require a logo to brand the CONFERENCE, not the organization. This year's Theme: "Expanding Horizons, Exploring Possibilities."

Top Three Things to Communicate

#1 - You will have fun if you come to this conference
#2 - You will learn practical skills and techniques that will further your career or research if you come to this conference
#3 - This is the premier event of it's kind on the West Coast.

Our Target Audience:

20% PhD specializing in education, recreation and/or social work
30% outdoor leaders and educators
15% Therapists
15% Corporate trainers
10% Students.
Group tends to lean left. Intelligent. Outdoor enthusiasts. Not wealthy as a rule. Participants are 50-50 male-female. 20-70 in age... 40ish is average. Mostly Californians, but Nevada and Hawaii are also part of the region. This year, the conference is at Lake Tahoe.

Color Preferences

All colors are o.k., but it would be good if the logo could also be reproduced as 1/c line-art (might wind up embroidered on a shirt)

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thank you gufi! (#1 and #2) The emphasis needs to be on the theme, "Expanding Horizons, Exploring Possibilities."... in fact the rest can be abbreviated: "WRAEE 2010 • LAKE TAHOE"

#3 and #4 Right on! I like the horizontal emphasis... makes sense considering the theme. Considering that the conference is at lake tahoe, I'm wondering if a lake-shore silhouette... maybe in blue might be an appropriate addition/replacement for the sun & rays? Just a thought...

#3 & 4... just relaized... should be WRAEE, not WRCAEE. Not a big deal at this point.... Thanks!

Dear CH,

I still want to challange myself to make a better and the best logo for you. Can you extend the deadline for a couple of days?

Thank you,

ALL: I extended the contest by two days... though I am up against a hard deadline and will have to end the contest Wednesday 9/16 at 5pm PST.

I Re-ranked #17 to second position, as I realized that the recognizable Lake-Tahoe image may be helpful in "selling" the conference to potential attendees. We're not building a "brand" here... we're trying to get people to come to a conference....
