thank you guys for such a wonderful start. i just have a question, the background color for each logo comes with it? so in other words, is it possible for me to put #4 on a black background without that white showing as part of the logo or is it part of it?
i hope that makes sense

i feel like #1, 2 and 3 are a little too busy.
i do like the fonts in 4 and 5, its a little more funky but still elegant
#6, the font is too simple, there is nothing to it, but the symbol is interesting. i wonder if it's one that grows on it. i don't entirely like it but i kinna don't mind it!

Hi - I think the easiest way to explain it is that if the background appears white, there is no background at all - so the logo can be placed on top of a black background if required. The winning designer will more than likely be willing to provide you with options for both no background and black background, just in case there are situations when you need both ... hope that helps!

this might help: Arabesque has 3 meanings, 1. in an arabian fashion 2. a short fanciful piece of music usually written for piano 3. its a form of dance

the two parts i am interested in are the music part (of course) and the arabian fashion part. just figured that might help with ideas. it would be cool to have both ideas integrated some how but with elegance, cleverness (if that's a word), and somewhat simple as opposed to a busy look.

i hope i didn't complicate things

question:

there are logos that i put in the 'not interested' section although they might be the same logo as something i liked but in a different color or on a different background.

what's better for you guys, the designers, rating them anyways or putting those in the not interested? because in my opinion some of them are still really good and i can still rate them if that gives you points. i just don't know how the system works.

The top three spots have to go to different designers, after that you can rank as many designs as you wish, whether they are similar to other entries or not. The more points we get the higher in the "designer" ranks we climb so every point is valuable to us, but don't feel obligated to award something that's not worthy, it's totally at your discretion :)

1st - 50 points
2nd - 20 points
3rd - 10 points
4th - 5 points
5th - 5 points
6th - 3 points
7th - 3 points
8th - 3 points
9th - 3 points
10th - 3 points
11th+ - 1 point

nothing has captured what i want yet.

i didn't even know that i am that picky...

i don't anything that has a hint of 'dance' in it because this might be misinforming to potential clients. it's a music studio.

i would like something clever but i don't want to stick with only the bass clef sign (the circle thing with the two dots to it's right) because i don't want it to look exclusive to that.

music has so many different symbols that can be used, not only notes and clefs. just a thought.

i want something simple, clever and eye catching.

so i decided to extend the contest

as i look a little closer at the entries i have a little bit more general feedback to give

i want to incorporate the colors red, black, grey and white if need be, i don't want any other colors (gold, pink, orange etc)

i like funky fonts but ones that are clear, i want people to be able to read the words clearly

i do realize that i've marked a lot of logos 'not interested' and that's not final, i am just trying to decide what i like, what is good potential, and what can be improved so please don't get discouraged. it's a harder process than i had expected because you guys come up with so many great ideas so bear with me!

i don't want any pictures of specific instruments because i do not want people to think that i teach one specific instrument, the studio offers many instruments.

i think that's all.. remember, we're aiming for clever, simple, and elegant.

i like having a separate design from the name like entry #19 and entry # 227, that allows me to use that design separately from the name if i so choose. but i am not completely satisfied with any particular design yet.

if you have any more ideas, please bring them along.

to help you out, i need one that works on a black or white backgrounds (so i suggest the red and gray)
i like it simple (not busy) but smart, and i would like it to incorporate more than just one symbol. a lot of designer have chosen to use the bass clef in many different ways, which is clever but very specific, i would love to have something musical but more generic.

i hope that gives you a better idea of what i am looking for.
