Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
This is a great first day of the tournament. As you can see from the current rankings, the designs we are most interested in are the ones with an international / euro feeling to them. They also need to keep an elegance about them that speaks to our client's tastes. Remember, this is very upscale stuff, but we don't want it to look too pretentious. Typeface is also very important to us. #47 and #49 are both interesting to me, but in different ways, of course. #49 may be a bit too modern for the label. Please also remember, like #43, that we are interested to see how things will look on labels. We want you to remember this is a logo for a label as well as cards, business paper, websites, etc.
Have fun with it, and we look forward to seeing more great work!
#50 and #51 - you have the right feeling with the "spirit of elegance" tag, but the A and the V are a bit too much. The typeface is also too stark a contrast from the letter. Perhaps try one a bit more traditional?
Some great new ones yesterday and this morning! I'm seeing more like #54, and like that there is a bit of a departure from just the "A" or the "AV" in some cases. I'm also noticing that even though I said I like the sans-serif typeface, nobody has tried anything with it. I'd be interested to see one or two thoughts that took the more elegant approach in that direction. #2 and #18 are personal favourites right now, I'm not sure why, I think it's just personal. I like How #61 has separated the first and last night with something other than color. Same with #63 and #59. On #59 and dance's other designs, I like the elegance and departure from the close "AV". Will it look good woven into something though?
#85, #80 and #101 are great ones today. They are great and I like their typefaces too. They way the name is typed out in #91 is great, but I'm not a fan of the graphic. The graphic needs to be simple to understand / simple for the eye to see and get.
Also, let's see some more on a while or grey background, as opposed to reverse type.
#144, #135 and #136 have all taken it in a new and interesting direction. The signature approach is the current logo design, and while I personally don't like the signature itself, the idea of mixing one line of signature with another of typed name is common in the industry and because of that, I'm OK with it.
#13 is now the closest we are coming to finding the winner. We are looking for something unique, simple and innovative that is not like anything else on the market today. The idea of a simple mark (in addition to the word mark) is a decided asset. No lions or anything resembling Versace please.
We are extending the contest because we have not found anything here that is unique, elegant or has enough character to represent the brand. The #1 and #2 ranked images are the favorites right now, and thy are up against our original logo which is a wordmark of the name in a contemporary cursive font. If trying #144 (which is #1 right now) please make the last name seem a bit bigger, please FIX SPELLING for ANTONIO, and please try a slightsly more elegant (perhaps a bit thicker) cursive font.
And please, more workmarks that are cursive but also elegant.
