Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are looking for one logo with two versions - in one ALYN appears like this in English and in the other it appears in Hebrew. We are looking for something that instantly gives the impression of children/handicaps.hospital. And I realize how impossible a desire that is! It might be easier to understand what we want by telling you what's wrong with our current logos: the American version looks like a sign for a handicapped bathroom and the Israeli version looks like the logo of a kids' summer camp. We are looking to unify/brand our looks,

it would be good if you said what you like or don't like about logos as feedback for new designs.

In reference to Designs #3, #4 and #5: We are looking for a logo that does NOT say American Friends...I want one logo that gives the viewer an impression of children with handicaps and the word ALYN. I want it in 2 versions...in one ALYN is like this in English and the other ALYN is in Hebrew...I think we are fairly bound by using blue and white...Blue is a color native to both the US and Israel so it makes it easier.

Perhaps if I tell you the criticisms of the two logos we are currently using you will understand better what we need.. Firstly the fact they are colored differently drives me crazy! Lousy for branding. The American logo looks like a sign for a handicapped bathroom and the Israeli logo looks like an ad for a summer camp.

The designs being submitted are just not capturing anything like what we were envisioning. Some look like cartoons. There is no feeling of cutting edge or curent or children or disabilities. The fonts are stale looking as well. There is no energy in them. They are making our current logo look good and since that looks like a sing for a handicapped bathroom this is not great either. However, our current logo looks crisp and clean and while it does not in any way explain what ALYN is or means you do get an iiimediate idea of disability.

ok. i have taken over this contest in our office. you will have more feed back and guidance.
First - no font dominated logo please.
second - abstract figures are not it like entry # 23 & # 26. however the font on #26 is very interesting.
third - lets go for a dynamic logo - like movement in a wheel chair - ask me questions. when i see a good direction i will guide you.

I just don't undeerstand why we are not seeing fabulous designs - like the ones that influenced our Board Member to get us to try this.!!
If we are not being clear about what we want - please say so because otherwise I am confused. I know there is a great pool of talent and we want to see it coming our way!
Our current logo may look like a sign for a handicapped bathroom but at leasrt whens someone sees it they get some idea of who we are.
None of these submissions even suggest disabled kids!

alynfriends,

Are you looking more for an illustrative logo design?

We aren't necessarily looking for an illustrative logo and are not necessarily opposed to one either - we just want something that invokes the idea of disabled children so that people can have an understanding of what ALYN is just from the logo. Let me know if that helps you at all!
