Be Active, Take Action!

Akshen project helps youth identify and solve problems in their communities using Akshen.org and our mobile Akshen App -- all while having fun with their friends!

We would like to use the logo to drive the web site theming. We will likely use jQuery UI widgets (http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/) and / or Twitter Bootstrap (http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/components.html) to assist with look and feel. So a logo design that fit in with the general look and feel of the twitter bootstrap components or of a color theme from jQuery UI themeroller would be nice.

Akshen project is aimed at finding new ways to combat childhood obesity. So it is trying to encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors in youth (good nutrition, physical activity) in subtle ways, i.e. stealth health. So we would like a logo that conveys action, perhaps with bright crisp colors (convey health?). The logo requested here will be used to brand a web site and mobile phone application that has both stealth health and civic engagement goals - it will empower kids to become aware of problems in their own communities that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles. Then on top of that, our apps will lead youth through a process that enables them to effect positive change in their communities and eliminate those very same problems. So a good cause - help us make this project a success with your incredible logo!
