AAPG Southwest Section Annual ConventionLogo Design Contest

First of all, we are the AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists).
I like incorporating the Oil Well, but maybe have it as one of the "A" s.
Emphasis should be more on the Slogan of "Domestic Exploration" than the Convention
The dates of May 16-18 should be mentioned.

If the color scheme is Red and Blue, the blue should be a Navy Blue (Pantone 281 C) and red should be dark red (Pantone 193C) - The same as the US Flag.

..wish I had seen this contest earlier... however with under an hour left, I cannot possibly submit anything of worth
