Our Ideas & Additional Information
*UPDATED* - New PDF reference file including new logo suggestions and ideas, and new PDF reference fill for handwritten fonts, added 12.25 AEST, 1st Feb.

Note on the reference material ; 'A Caring Ear' was an alternate name. Please design a logo for 'A Better Ear'.

Open, honest, clean, happy, healthy, optimistic, caring, easy, accessible, modern/progressive.

Please see the mock ups and comments attached.

'Logo_01' is a idea I drew on my phone. It's the best option so far, but we are open to other ideas.

We like a circle, either hand drawn 'loose' or geometric, it should speak of humanity and kindness.

We would like a sound wave or sine wave involved.
The wave should be an even line and rounded. See reference. Not a sharp jagged heart rate line.

We don't really like the idea of an ear in the logo.

The business name must be effortless to read for seniors who may not have great vision.

Please don't include the slogan.

The font should be friendly and personable, easy to read and clean. Please see the .docx attached 'Font suggestions_A Better Ear' for a number of examples and feedback on the suitability of each.

Thank you for considering our logo. We hope that the direction provided helps you get started. Please ask questions if you feel it helps.

Discussion

Thank you for the submissions!
I have uploaded an additional image. It is the image from the Arctic Monkey's album AM. It features a sine wave.

We'd like a sine wave that is smooth and even, not varied and random.
We'd like a sine wave which is curved and connected, not sharp or broken.
We'd like the yellow spot to be more yellow than the orange sample provided (upon reflection, this is too orangy. Please give us some yellow's to choose from.)
We'd like no pictures of ears please.
We'd like a logo only now please. Please drop the slogan. We can add it after the logo is working right if required.
We'd like to see some examples of hand drawn circles. The example supplied 'Logo_01' is still our preferred shape.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a logo. We appreciate your skill and hardwork.

To creativesouldesign, Hibban, Mr_Do, shihara and mplusc, congratulations. Some of you have already submitted many variations. There is not a lot of difference between the entries that we like which I guess is as a result of our brief being quite narrow.

In this stage I would like to do a couple of things;
1. Get the yellow right
2. Get the font right
3. Get the case mix right (Upper/lower/mixed)
4. Determine which composition works best, logo above, below, right or left.

We now know we want the logo to work on its own as well as paired with the business name and slogan. Your advice and opinion would be very welcome at this stage.

Its possible that as we get closer to the launch of our business that we will need brochure design for print and possibly web design assistance. If any of you are available or interested in a continuing business relationship please message me.

I'll take a little more time to order the logo's on the basis of favorites and place some additional comments.
Thank you all again for your help. Please let me know if there is any feedback in particular that would assist you.

With regards to colour, I assume it will need to be CMYK so that it is compatible with printing but could someone please advise should we be talking in terms of CMYK values, Pantone, or something else?

Thanks everyone for their attention and skill.
There were many excellent entries but in the end there was one which seemed to sum up everything we were going for and that seemed to our feel best.
