Our Ideas & Additional Information
We need a new Logo!
We are a high power FM radio station in a small market. Our format is Hot AC (Adult Contemporary), basically Top 40 for adults, no hip hop, rap, or hard rock. Target audience is 18 – 54 year olds, core audience is 25 – 44 year olds.
The logo we have used for years and years is
WRJC logo.jpg
It is on all of our letterhead, business cards, banners, website, etc. etc. Only over the past couple years have we altered/updated it for staff wearables, basically an outlined, or sometimes two-color version of our regular logo, our embroiderer came up with. The only art I have to share on that look is from the embroiderer and is
WRJC OL.pdf
Like I said, we are in a small market, so while I personally may be alright with a significant change, I am cautious whether or not to do that and risk alienating some of my audience. I came up with the attached rough idea

Incorporating our outlined logo (subdued) within a new logo. That is as creative as I can get. While I came up with that, it might work for me if it was cleaned up, or I am certain there might be something better, or even perfect out there that someone can come up with for me.
Some things I do like that may or may not be in my idea; smart use of drop shadows, a microphone logo. I was thinking of two colors plus black and white for the main logo, if a design warrants additional colors are fine. The colors should be bold, bright, and “in your face”, and communicate fun! We are trying to communicate fun, hip, and energy. We will want to be able to change the colors, an example would be for matching or coordinating for a shirt or jacket. I will also want a one-color or black & white version for certain simpler uses.
Our signal is broadcast on 92.1FM. So that for this logo, or 92ONE, or 92one. Positioning statement is 'NOW 92one FM - The Best of the 90s, Y2K, and today!"
Our web address will be www.92one.fm

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Client
Thank you for the initial designs...
Please note, I want to use our current logo (font/type style) within the logo, preferably the outlined logo. Our logos are attached to the contest brief.
Also, attached to the brief, please find a file named comp.jpg, these are the logos of many of the other station in our market, and the ones we want to stand out from.
Also, now attached to the brief, is a stations logo named images959.jpg, that I really like and was my inspiration and reference for my sketches also attached.
Also, I would like the number (92) and the letters (ONE/one) to be more dominant than, the call letters WRJC, which might not even need to be included.. The 92 and the 'one' should be on the same line, next to each other, and not stacked.

Maybe someone can try a logo that would read "NOW 92one FM"? I know my sketch did not have the "NOW" as part of it, but it has now become our identifier and our positioning statement.

#27 - What if the top line read "NOW", and the second line read "92one"?

#8 - What would it look like if it was squared off, not vanishing/trailing away? How can you would the word now into it?

#21 - How can you work the word "NOW" into it? Not sure if I like the "FM" within the "O". What about different colors? Brighter, hipper, trendier...

#10 - How can you work the word "NOW" into it? Not sure if I like the "1" within the "one". Spelling out the "one" or "ONE" is important to me rather than the number "1". What about different colors? Brighter, hipper, trendier...
