t - Interesting take on #158 and #159. Shows promise. We have moved away from the VV letterform at the moment, because we want to have space on the two labels for the V series wine and the Q series wine.
I have my contest ranked into deciles. Each group of 10 is a it's own "contest". 1-10 is 1st choice of a unique design, 11-20 is 2nd choice in the same design. So if you find yourself 1 &11, it does not follow that 11 is my 11th choice. Hopefully that is clear.

More focus on the name, scrap the letterform, but use a V for the premium red. and think about another colour pallete for the Q. Todate no one has put the letter V below the name.

#160 & #161, better. Prefer the more rectangle #160. deemphasis the V It is crowding out the name which is most important.
#162-#165, better like the deemphasis of the V. Think I like #165 best with the sort of echo / reverse shadow of the V. I think we could put all sorts of subliminal messages in that shadowy background. ;) "Cult Classic", "20/20" "100pt" "Top Rated" and any other superlatives from the Wine Spectator (just kidding (almost)).
also like the spacing a little better in #165. Maybe could be tweaked a bit in a final round if required.
#166 & #167 - Like the locale in there. I think #166 works better because it all progresses down into a V shape.
Lastly, another tweak in the final rounds, the leaf should be changed to a Cabernet Sauvignon style.

#168 & #169 - I think I slight prefer the darker 169, but I think I reacted more stongly to the background when I could not quite figure it out. Notice how #163 is blurier? Possible because the tones are so close. Let me noodle on it.
Also, I think I prefer the Red Vs over the browns in #170 & #171. We want to emphasis the red flavours of the wine. Darker implies a bit of age, mushroom, tobacco...
In a final round the V needs to be dropped a few points to put more wait to the bottom of the label.
Nice variation.
#172, #173, #175 - Yes spacing is a lot better. Did you get the label sizes from the Contest Discussion?
I still think the more subtle background is better #175. Ahh, now I notice, V is smaller. Great!

Hi there chonsp,
actually I didn't see the size in the discussion, but the size fits nicely into this shape, I can even stretch the label down a bit more if required. Glad you are liking my designs. I'll try not to bombard you with too many more alterations...I'm starting to clog up this design comp with my own work. Please let me know if you have any other ideas to add to the design.

can I just check that I'm doing the size right with the label, 93mm wide x 110mm deep? I just noticed that you are looking at a logo that is horizontal not vertical and was wondering if I was doing the wrong thing for the shape?

hi there, #185 has only a few adjustments, lighting changed so it is on the wording more and comma added after Franschhoek.
Would you like to have the label in a different shape or do you like the rectangle feel of the logo, easier for labels. Will cost a lot less, but if you are after quality not quantity with wine production, then you probably will want the label to really stand out, just like the wine itself.

I like the lighting emhasis for #185, I think a rectangular label is easy to fit for the machines that will do the labeling. I thinbk we can have the qulaity jump up by the quality of the paper, the inks and using raised lettering etc.

I think you could really give the label a lovely look, by actually having the gold areas of the logos I have submitted in gold foiling or gold ink. Going to try a few more ideas soon

changed the border and added a bit more flair to the V, plus a rose bud on the Veraison wording. Hope you like?

I've tried to simplify my design. I think the label would look very prestigious like this.

Yes, correct. Works well on the bottles I'm susing as described in the contest discussion.

I'd be more likely to go with reverse colors for the two wines. Like that it is cleaner but seems a bit flat.

Favorite is #287 / #283 but killing the final line (date, varietal). I like the way that it all comes down in a V shape. I think we've taken this design as far as it can go. I like #286 as a colour variation for the other wine. Nice job on all.
