hello there, my first entry for your consideration featuring a custom letter mark made up of a peice of grape vine and a rose (symbolizing not only the use of roses in wineries but romance, which also relates to red wine =)
hope you like it, any feedback would be great,
thanks,
bugy.

silver version which could be used for the Q series

I like these two entries #39 and #38, the best so far. What if, the underline was dropped and they were framed in a cross-sectioned barrel motif or the oblong view of a barrel end?

oh thats a nice idea, ill give it a try.
thanks for the feedback, appreciate it =)

not sure if i understood you correctly, ive framed it with a simple representation of a barrel end. let me know if this is heading in the right direction or not.
thanks

#44, yeah that doesn't quite work does it. Let me see if I can find a google image.
btw - I like it better than the underline.

This is what I meant by an oblong shape even though you can't see the whole barrel end.
I guess i was thinking about a faded barrel back, so it would be obvious it was a barrel. Start with the shape, reduce the line width and we'll see if we need to add detail to refine the image.

Q series,
i know your not overly happy with the barrel but we can work on that. im just submitting this one to show you my custom drawn Q.
if i were to win this contest i would obviously be happy to supply you with both the V series and the Q series logos

I'm liking the color choices in #49, Not sure about the Q in the vine. I want to make sure the consumer is sure he is buying the same vintner each time. Also, perhaps Q Series is a little too wordy, and just a Q would be sufficient. perhaps in the fork of the original vine?
Thanks on the offer, on the two for one.

Using the barrel end as a background for the text and symbol.
it can be further refined from here but this gives you the idea, personally i think it looks really nice =)

Oh, I like #50 & #51. Looks like silver or gold inlay in a rich wood. How about using a smaller version of your underline adding it under the name, and then moving the Q & V below that? Well done.
Lat point, I'm still worried about using the same font as the label in contest notes.

not sure what you mean by this? "Lat point, I'm still worried about using the same font as the label in contest notes. "

Sorry, I was blocked out for some reason. I checked the dictionary. I cannot find an alternate spelling for vineyard so lets keep the e in ;).
The Q looks ok, try Edwardian script for the V.
You were briefly 1 & 2 on my favorites list and then i noticed the spelling.
Also, I wonder if the barrel oval should be inside of a black rectangle (vertical) or a back oval?

Logo Designer
oh dear, i totally didn't notice the spelling >< how embarrassing. ill fix it now and try the Edwardian for the V

one more thing, #54 & #53, a little more space betwen the name, underline , and single letter.

p.s. dropped e was not intentional above

here we go all fixed =)
spelling correct and i put and bit more space in between the lines of text and the underline as requested

rectangle version, i think it detracts from it a bit having it like this. the main reason i went with a black background originally was because thats (almost) the colour of a red wine bottle and gives you a good idea of what the design would look like on the bottle.
keep the feedback coming, its nice to have a CH who you can work with in this back and forth manner =)

#63 - No the Q is too hard to read in that font.
#59, #60, #61 - rustic is better than too polished and varnished. Don't want it looking like a loo seat. Sorry, I could'nt think of a way to say it without giggling.
We definately want people to know this is a barrel end of an old fermenting tank.
