What We Do
PicksLeague is an online gaming experience built around picking the outcomes of real life sporting events (which team will win the game?)
Industry
Internet
Color Preferences
Red, white, blue. Can add blacks or grays if needed. Please avoid anything patriotic. The color selection is intended to be evocative of sports league logos (a few attached).
Our Ideas & Additional Information
PicksLeague is 1 word when plain written text, but the logo can be broken out if it looks good.

We need a wordmark that is evocative of team sports, but not of any specific sport.

Feelings: competitive, fun, fast.

We also need a distinctive icon that can be used as an app icon / favicon. The icon should be a symbol that complements the wordmark, evocative of a ticket and may also utilize the "P" or "PL" of our name. Color-wise, tickets are used in the game in a blue color, so the ticket in the logo should be either blue or white (not red). The icon should present well side-by-side with the wordmark in a webpage header (important) or in print material. Both the wordmark and icon designs should be simple enough to look good on an embroidered shirt and should look good monochrome.

The ticket should be able to size down to an icon size to be used to represent tickets in the game. We're currently using the fontawesome ticket icon, but will replace it with the small form of the ticket from the logo. (screenshot of the fontawesome ticket attached).

As mentioned above, the color selection is meant to be evocative of the sports icons attached, but we want to avoid copying the style of them, so please don't do the split blue-white-red style of those logos. The color selection is enough without copying the style.

ADDENDUM 3/3: We're seeing a lot of early submissions that are using both the PL and a ticket for the Pictorial/Letterform mark (a suggestion we made in our initial proposal). We're not sure it's working. The marks with just a ticket seem stronger, in most cases. If you've got a great idea for it, go for it, but please consider also providing a ticket without the PL as an alternative. Also, we've asked a couple of people to try adding a trophy to the ticket somehow, and are seeing some appealing results. Please consider using a trophy in addition to (not instead of) the ticket in the pictorial mark.
