Clapboard with Los Angeles skyline silhouette night scene. (213) in brackets like an area code. Would add more details to the city, but wanted to see what you thought of this concept first. Let me know if you have any preferences for font.

Another idea on black, maybe too busy for you but I wanted to try it.

Sorry about my original concept, I've worked on 2 "film"-related logo contests on this website, and all of them wanted really busy, colorful logos. Learning experience.

Thank you for the submissions. We all agree that the font you selected for 213 in entry's #17, 14, and 13 is the best font we have seen of any of the logos. It's a classic serif font and really timeless.

As I mentioned in my general post, we are a little concerned about using a skyline silhouette of LA. Unlike other cities in the states like Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco, or NYC... Los Angeles does not have a distinctive skyline at all, and therefor using an outline of a random city is sort of like using a generic stock photo of people in a corporate brochure. You know what I mean... you see the photo and it looks good, the people look great, but you know instinctively that those aren't really employee's of the company and that sticks with you. (I hope that makes sense)

We like the brackets ( ) on either side of the 213 because it reiterates that this is an area code, We just feel that the use of the clap board is too literal of a representation. Try to think of more of an imaginative, or loose representation of a filming element. It feels like the stark image of the clap board is saying... look here, we are a movie company. It's just a bit too much if you understand what I'm saying.

like #29. like fonts used. can word filming be a little bolder or larger (maybe 10/15%), may loose it against black bkgd. now incorporate olive or martini glass and you're there, two swirls make nice shape but do not say angles of martini glass. maybe you work with negative shapes in numbers? number 1 is a little small. do loose it between 2 and 3. otherwise this is at the top of my list. i am really impressed. good work.

Thanks for the new feedback. Not sure if this is what you were looking for.
"FILMING" font thicker, 213 all the same size numbers, and a martini glass shape added. The original swoosh wasn't intended to be the bottom of a glass, but I wanted to see what it looked like if it was.

re: "negative space", you want to see the "1" fitted between the 2 and 3 using negative space, like another designer has done?

Let me know if you want to see any more variations.

I will be sleeping when your contest ends, but can work on a revision in the morning if my design is ranked #1 (only the #1 ranked design during the "Judging" phase can submit revisions).

Thanks for considering me.
