Color Preferences
We are open to any gender neutral colors. This company caters to children from 6 to 18, boys and girls. Some things to consider would be texture such as weld marks, burnt wood, textiles, rough edges, etc. However, it needs to be something flat that we can easily screen print or embroider on shirts.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We like the idea of a medallion style logo. Perhaps like a metal or an award. Circular is best. Our website is http://www.3dpartsed.org/. We also like the use of common tools, gears and simple machines to illustrate text.

The uploaded PDF logo was something that was roughly created to illustrate the ture 1st maker space is in the mind. Not a great start but is helpful in explaining the concept.

One other concept to consider is that the true maker space starts in the mind. Something that relates to "thinking" or "tinkering" in one's head.

I'd like to see more round logos like #3. There can be some elements outside the circle but the predominant shape should be an emblem.

Please avoid references to space and/or earth. I don't want it to seem like a space program. I'd like to see more tools used such as screwdirvers, pliers, hammers, gears, etc.

I'm not looking for anything with swooshes of any kind or too much of a WORD MARK. ROUND like a medallion is an idea, if it can be done well; but,not a requirement.

I'd like to see more emphasis on the number 1. Maybe it can be in the center overlaid on an LED or transistor.
"Maker" can be on the top and "space" can be on the bottom. Also, I'd like to see the outer circle as a gear with gear teeth.

I added a very crude concept in the image upload of a gear with the "1st" in the center and "maker" above and "space below. Perhaps we could have an LED or Transistor in the background.

Hope to get more unique and creative entries. Although we would like an emblem and like the gear idea, we are open to more creative ideas. Hi-tech - circuits - diy - innovation.

1st Maker Space
is a place kids learn how to turn their imagination into reality! Kids learn to make and make to learn. We want the 1st to stand out because we believe the brain is the true "1st" maker space - kids have to THINK to be creative.

Circuits may be an idea for a different accent.
