This is a substack blog inspired by George Orwell, who invented the term newspeak as the language of the dystopian world of 1984. It's a work in progress located here: https://newspeak.substack.com/ I'm a speechwriter, and this blog serves as an outlet for commentary on language in the 21st Century. The focus is the language of politics and influence, or political and business language designed to shape people's thoughts. I want the blog to be a prominent and unique voice for free speech in the battle for ideas. Writers will comment on the emergence of buzzwords frequently used in politics, business and in woke culture. This blog will be loosely connected to a fictional book project about a dystopian world in the near future and to a communications consulting practice already underway.
