StickyBeak
Our product provides an engaging, three-dimensional middle school science curriculum that aligns with the NGSS standards. We selected the name StickyBeak from an Australian term that means "excessively nosy and curious" - annoyingly curious - because your nose is always in everyone else's business. While this characteristic may not be endearing to relationships, we believe that the best scientists (including children) can be described this way!! OUR INSPIRATION: Children are curious. They ask questions about the world around them and try to find the answers, just like scientists do! This makes children natural scientists, but their curiosity is often stifled as the curriculum becomes less and less engaging. Teachers work to compensate for this by infusing their lessons with a variety of resources; however, this can lead to teacher burnout and lack of consistency. We have identified the need for students and teachers to have a curriculum available that is three-dimensional, rigorous, and engaging. One that takes some of the burden off teachers and makes science exciting and motivating for the students.
