I was surprised today to log in and see my second-placed design removed by a moderator because the background didn't fit the rules.
The background was actually well matched to the site I want the design for.
I thought it was a bit crook not to get any message from the moderator.
If moderators take away another designer's design, I think they owe it to the CH to have an explanation - not just a few words on the removed space.
Does this happen often?

I have PM's the CH on this matter and made suggestions that will work in his favour and not have any further designs removed for background issues.
