Hi Everyone,
I'm Kathy, my hubby Dave and I will working together with you. We don't really know what our company looks like but there are a few things we do know. We don't want a glove in the logo. Our bp calls for an expanding product line. We also want something that will speak to an adult line as well as our initial kids line (our kids line is called WarmEase. If we could also get just this word to use in conjuction with the company logo, that would be great!). The other thing is that ZipperBack is one word with the Z and B capitalized. The G in gloves can be capped or not, but we've been using it capitalized. Thanks so much! Kathy

#13 is really clean and has a strong representation for our company for the long run. I would like to see the slogan included and possibly a ZB or ZBG in the emblem at the top. We would also like the red to be a brighter color instead of the brick red.

#10 is really fun and as different as these two are, they are the favorites of our team. Could we see the ZB be ZBG and either take the zipper graphic out or make it turn like it does on our gloves.

Does this feedback help?

Hey Xozan, Thanks for taking a crack at this. Could you close the zipper on the Z and make it ZBG? Also, the font for the slogan is hard to read, could you change it? Thanks again, this is all very fun!

Let me first apologize for our lack of knowing what we want. We're torn because we need a corporate image that really speaks to our initial product, a kids glove, but will carry over to our adult line as well. #13 is really clean but I think speaks to a twenty-something audience, a more snowboard type culture. If it could be brighter and more playful, that may work. I'm really feeling #17 as I can see it on our product on the shelves. As it turns out, we would rather leave the zipper off the logo all together, and could the oval with the name and slogan be a little bigger, maybe overlap the ZBG a little? I don't know, you guys are the experts, advise me! Smiling.

Hello all,

This is Dave of Kathy and Dave. My job in this start up is V.O.R. (voice of reason). I am thrilled by this website and the talent that is available. It is very difficult to get accross what is in our heads and somehow transfer it to your heads. So far Kathy and I have been dead on in what we really like. I am looking more for a professional corporate logo that will transcend all genres, such as #13, but we like the feel of #17 for our childrens line of gloves. Kathy likes #23 but I think it is a little to juvenille in looks (not saying the artist is juvenille, just the feel of the logo to who it's geared towards). This is very difficult critiqueing peoples hard work. Kathy's comment about #13 still holds. I like the edgeiness and clean lines of it but the colors need to pop a little more. Looking to hear your comments to help us refine this.

Hi both Kathy & Dave,

Thanks for your comments and feedback.

I think the key to this is deciding which type of logo you require first, bearing in mind that this is one competition. In my opinion I would create a corporate professional logo first, of which your products (age ranges) would be a sub-brand? Maybe a second competition is required to design the kids branding? Maybe not, because some of the wealth of talent on here may be able to hit the nail on the head and encompass both corporate strategy and product branding in a harmonius way. If you can steer us all in one direction then you will be able to maximise peoples efforts and receive the best possible logo and identity for yourselves to support your products now and in the future.

P.S. Does the winner get a free pair of gloves? :)

Regards,
Daitch

Thank you Daitch! We need this help and agree you are right. I'm really hoping for the wealth of talent to come up with something clean, and still fun!

The last thing we want to do is be critical but I've been in the forums and know you guys would rather have real feedback. I think these are all awesome but here is what we are really saying, #21 looks too much like a 50's diner, and we don't want a glove in the logo. #25 feels too much like an international beer label, and #27 is too close to FAO Schwartz.

We do want a ZBG if there is a watermark or emblem. #30 really speaks to be in terms of being bold, fun, and really pops. #13 is really corportate (see notes above), #16 with the changes I asked for and #29 seems to be starting to combine the two in terms of corp and fun.

I don't think we'll need another contest as we already have corporate and fun here, but if we could get a great "one" that would be the ultimate goal. Thanks again Daitch, but where's yours? As far as gloves I think we could work something out!

Unfortunatley you've counted my entries so far out of the running (sniff..), #19, 20, 5 & 6.

I shall have another stab later on at creating some more entries for you later!

I'm sorry! And yet you're still so kind to me!

We really like what's happening with #34 and #35, the ZBG needs to all be caps though. We see the crisp corporate thing working with the WarmEase kids line....WOW, this really is getting so much better in the final days! Keep it coming! Yay!

I still really feel #30 though and think this would be the best hang tag for our kids gloves

Oh my gosh, I just got back and there is so much more to see. I'll be back in an hour and have more feedback and see if we need to re-rank the entries! Thanks so much everyone, we are just so impressed. Kathy

Feedback: #44 is eye catching but the prominent zipper looks too much like a taylor or seamstress.

#16 has possibilty but with the changes I requested on 12/22.

#41 is good, it's bold, colorful and really pops but needs to be a little more coporate.

We are all in agreement that #34 and #35 are so appealing because we can see the WarmEase in the same style. We especially like that #35 uses the ZbG emblem with the WarmEase name. We would ultimately like the ZbG to be ZGB but it's been lightened up to be a little less corporate but still really clean.

#37 and #38 are both really good and we can see them for a retail hang tag but not so much for the company logo.

#22 and #23 we liked, too, but again, too child like and not quite corporate enough.

For all the logos we didn't comment on, it's only because they don't speak to us, it's simply a taste thing, not a good versus bad. We have been so impressed with all the talent that I've already referred logotournament.com to three other friends who need a logo. We have all day tomorrow and home to see some of the refinements...you guys rock! Thanks so much for all your hard work and ideas.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to add a point about logos in general---i note that you state some of the examples would be good for hangtags and others good for a company logo and some for your kids line. In general in marketing it is best to have one logo that can possibly be modified in small ways with taglines or slight add-ons or changes in color for variations in your products, but too many logos within one company tends to dilute your brand, and therefore lessen its marketing impact. You want to find a logo you would be comfortable using in everywhere you are going to have it appear---from stationary to hangtags to clothing labels or ..... If a logo is clean enough, effects and add ons can always be added later. But you want to be recognized by the main logo first.

Thank you, you're right. I've said that all along but my (small) team keeps saying, "we can have a corp logo and something different for our WarmEase line." I think we need one face that speaks to who we are as a whole. This is why I'm liking 34 and 35. This shows me what that variation can look like while stll including the emblem from the logo. I sure appreciate your help and we get close to having to choose.

It's becoming clear that we like the ZBG in an emblem that can be incorporated with all our lines. Please know that we are trying to give feedback without being critical, we #'s 53, 54, and 55 the lines are too hard. My preference is something more flowing.

#56 is much too stark.

I still love #30, can it be streamlined some so it's not so bold but still feels fun? (I love it bold, but the team want something not as big as my personality!)

As always, we are so impressed with all of our choices, this is getting harder each hour!

We swapped #51 and #46 because we think the bright colors and playfulness speak to who we are and while not looking like Disneyland. I would still like to see #30 in the more streamlined style of 46 or 51. I know it's Christmas eve so this may be it with people gathering with family. If so, we have been SO impressed with what everybody's done for us. Thank you!

Hi baiskee, I thought #48 was you. We really like how clean your design is but I'm afraid it doesn't feel quite as bold as we want, maybe too pharmaceutical or of that kind of corporate nature.

Everyone has done such great work, it's almost impossible to choose. WOW! is all I can say. Now the really hard part comes...Thank you to everyone, thank you!

Numbers #46 and #88 show how I envisioned the logo and the glove brands working together. #88 not a finished product just an idea. Time was tight with the holiday.

Thanks & Happy Holidays
