Entry 27- Can I see this as solid white on black. solid black on white and with the font used in #23? I need to see what the logo will look like as a single solid color. Thanks! Can you try entry #25 with the binary sphere to the left and a reflection (like in #25)? I really like the reflection in #25 but the sphere in #27 is very cool. Good job!!
Thanks! Here is #27 with the font used in #23 on solid black and white backgrounds: #28, #29. And #30 has the layout and style of #25... I'll be able to make more changes all day today if you'd like; tomorrow I'd be back to my day job and won't be able to make changes right away til night... ~Mel
Hi Mel, great job so far! Take a look at my brief and you will find a font called Levi Brush. Can you try one with the ZEN word in that font? I really like the brush script/grunge look of that font. I also really like the pinwheel too.... reminds me of pantone swatches. Decisions decisions!
Thanks Mel... we are so close. Not sure if you have the time to try this... I ran the logo by my colleagues and they were not fans of the binary code on the sphere...(I know, it was my idea). I was told it reminded them of an old IBM electric typewriter key sphere, and the pinwheel made them think of a buzzsaw. Oh well.
Here are my thoughts... The Levi Brush font should probably have ZEN on one line then D E S I G N W O R K S smaller below it and more spaced out so both lines are the same width.
Can you try one with the same sphere but this time a spiral sun petroglyph? Try one with the binary code in the spiral.
Hi Robert, I have two versions of lenses on #37 and #38. I saw your comments earlier about it...
You can certainly extend the contest if you'd like more designers to submit, if not, the first place designer can continue refining the potential winning logo. There is still a final approval by the contest holder before a contest is completed.
I'll work on the logo until you are satisfied... :) Thanks, Mel
Can you take a look at the current logo I have (see contest brief for attachment) and expand the idea? My original logo has the kokopelli native american flute dancer which I drew myself. Can you use your talents and do a kokopelli in the water ripples? If you can come up with a kokopelli that looks better than mine it would be really great. Just google kokopelli and you will get tons of ideas. Thanks for your hard work!
Thank you! I'll check out kokopelli and work on it. Here is #39 and #40 with the spiral sun... Gotta catch some zzzzs and got work tomorrow. I'll post new designs tomorrow evening. Thanks, Mel
Hi Mel, great job on the suns. I'd like to keep the same color scheme on the sun (ie. purples and reds). Looking forward to seeing that you will come up with re kokopelli.
Hi Robert, #45 and #48 are two kokopelli figures with different hairstyles and "zen" in binary code inside the figures. #46 and #47 has the letter "z" in binary. I have the figure touching the water with one foot like dancing.
#49 and #50 are red versions of the spiral sun on #39 and #40.
#51 and #52 has the letter "z" on the right side up as it fits better with the figure. You'll notice there are some slight variations of colors in the water ripples. It maybe better with all purple or a mix of the color touching it. Hope you like 'em... Thanks, Mel
Hi Mel.... great job! I have passed your logos along to my colleagues and it is unanimous that #39 and #47 are both winners. How do I get both logos from you? I am thinking of using the kokopelli logo as a separate branch of my business. Not sure how that works if I want both logos.
Based on the rules I understand that you will provide the logos with White Background, Colored Background, Black & White, and Solid Colors (no gradients). Can I please see #39 and #47 in black and white, grayscale and solid color versions? Then I think we are good to go.
Hi Mel, Try replacing the flute with an SLR camera with a long lens, so it is almost the same shape as the flute and instead of it coming out of his mouth move it up to his eye. Does that make sense?
Hi Robert, #58, #59 and #60 are versions with a camera instead of a flute... On #60 there are also varying shades of the purple color, perhaps it helps distinguish it more as camera... Thanks, Mel
Hi Mel, thanks for the hard work. It just doesn't look enough like a camera to really set it apart from the flute. What if kokopelli were standing straighter and there was a little burst of a flash (like rays or sunburst). If that does not work out I'll be satisfied with the original kokopelli.
Hi Robert, #63, #64 #66, #67, #68 and #69 have stars or rays. The arms are positioned higher on #63, #66, #67 and #69; and there are very slight differences of figure poses in #63, #64 and #69... Thanks, Mel
