While this was a different direction than we were originally thinking we do like the idea.
There are two interesting directions here: 1) Try and combine this with the original concept of a coat of arms. Is there a way we can expand this concept/design/thinking into a coat of arms?
2) Go further with this idea independently. What could we do with this direction to make an icon that is instantly unique and recognizable? This symbol is on that road, but not immediately distinct yet. It sparks images of a wax seal, which is a very cool idea given the nature of our organization. Is there a way we could take that further to create something distinctive?
For entry #5, we don't meant to discourage the use of text. The final version we want may have text in it, but we liked that the symbol in #1 had more intricacy and was therefore more unique. We want that instance recognizably either way--with or without text.
Entry 47 & 48 struck us as fantastic. We also still really like entry #5.
We really like the symbol, and would like to find a way to tastefully implement the shield. Rather than putting the symbol in the shield, like in #47, can we try putting the shield within the symbol?
Couple of new versions for you. Please let me know if you're happy with the size of the symbol and complexity. I'm also not sure if the example of a wax seal was just an idea how the shield is incorporated within the symbol, or you actually want me to create something similar to wax seal which has quite irregular shape.
Hi, I've made some new alternatives for you. The closest would be Entry #149 and #150 as the shape inside the shield is actually more a star not Y but still have the same feel and look. Also #155 and #156 which are variations with shield in negative.
