zrox, thanks for getting in the first entry! I'd like to see what it looks like with a more amber/gold color instead of the red. For reference, think the darkest tone of the light bulb next to the number of entries on the contest brief page.

I've been leaving comments on each design, and will continue to do so.

General observations so far: a lot of very masculine designs with very blocky fonts. I'd like to see some varied fonts, and would encourage people to think "nature, local" as much as possible. We are an energy company, but we are relatively tiny, and there is an element of cottage industry to what we do. I know that a concept like "local" is very difficult to convey, but you are the experts, so impress me.

If you have wacky ideas, try them out.

If anyone is interested in seeing what we have been using, a low-fi version is here: http://ybiofuels.org/images/circlelogoforLT.jpg

Also, if you want to get a feel for us as a company, you may want to hang out at our website a little bit: http://www.ybiofuels.org

The stacked up, non-symmetrical nature of #15 is appealing. That's actually something I liked about #3 as well.

These are getting really interesting. I'm turning into a true believer in Logo Tournament. Keep it up!

One thing I liked when #52 showed up, is that it's a new visual concept. So many golden droplets and green leaves. Obviously, I like some of those designs very much, but I would love to see some new visual concepts. Remember, you can check out our website for ideas and inspiration: www.ybiofuels.org

All depend on Contest Holder, more intensive you pay attention to us, more awesome works will come to you. You are a good CH, so... keep it up, too :)

I like what Sandhya and danoe have done with nature tableaus. We're starting to get a lot of variety. This is good. While it's not my favorite design, I keep thinking about #52, because it tells a very appropriate story: nature, inside a droplet. We are a very ideals-based, environmentalist company, and if we weren't doing something that is better for the natural world, we wouldn't be here. So if that can somehow be expressed, wonderful!

Oh, and diyandesign- thank you. I was once a freelance graphic designer, and I've done logos in the past (including our company's existing logo). You all know what you're doing a lot better than me, but it's fun to play director.

Getting down to the wire. If you've got any weird ideas rolling around, now's the time to throw them out there- we still have time to work together on tweaking them. Some of the best ideas may seem crazy at first.

I would also encourage each designer- if you have any ideas that don't match the criteria in my brief, i.e. wrong colors, gradients, etcetera, it's okay to toss them out there. Maybe there will be something to work with. After all, I want to make sure that I'm able to look at your best effort.

I've been polling our management team on the results, and the top picks are beginning to represent a real consensus around here. The biggest concern so far is the fonts, so I would urge folks to try out some different typefaces. Thank you!

Another thing to try out: the lettering with all of the letters in black except "bio" in green. Thanks.
