Entry #1: Thanks for submitting your entry so quickly! Our fault for making a few things unclear; the slogan does not have to be used in the logo, nor does the happy face, especially if the logo is a Wordmark, its fine to leave anything out. All we care about is that the logo represents Yoghies, regardless of if it contains the smiley face or slogan, so please feel free not to include these elements. We are looking for a a more professional corporation type logo that can be used for all our future franchise stores. We also like the Web 2.0 type logos with the lowercase lettering for everything. Thanks husk!

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, and to all designers regarding our color scheme: The main colors of our store are dark brown, yellow, orange, light purple, and dark pink. Turquoise can be added in small amounts as a highlighting color, but for the most part, we would like to see the other main colors used. Thank you!

#7 wow that looks great, we love the dark brown. is there a way to make the inner color something other than tan? maybe one of our signature colors (yellow, orange, light purple, dark pink, silver)? and if the font could be a bit funkier instead of so standard, we are looking at the grunge/eclectic/artsy font style particularly. great job!

#6 love the design! missing the tongue sticking out, if that could be added. also like the wacky font you did, altho maybe a bit too retro-ish, as we are looking for more of a grunge/eclectic/artsy font type like the ones mentioned on the contest brief. if it could be mixed with a web 2.0 logo style, we think it would look awesome. thanks sunardi!

#15 really really like the scratched look of this design. would prefer a dark pink/magenta to yellow for the text. also would prefer a more of a grunge style font. don't like the design above the "y", but like the idea of a design above the "y", just not that one. awesome job!!

#15 really really like the scratched look of this design. would prefer a dark pink/magenta to yellow for the text like your design, #13, and really like the web 2.0 style your #13 is in, if it would be possible to add that style to design #15. also would prefer a more of a grunge style font. don't like the design above the "y", but like the idea of a design above the "y", just not that one. awesome job!!

#20 wow we love this one! amazing! love the font, and the colors are perfect. 3 changes and id love to have this logo for our business :) 1. add the scratched look like on entry #18 but keep everything else the same. 2. we like the pink font, and the brown background, but could we do something else for the letter shadowing than the same brown? maybe a darker brown? 3. remove the icon above the "y" (the square like thing with the stuff spurting out). thanks so much EYdesigns!

Greetings everyone and especially to EY designs for all your hard work with these designs!

We like the ideas your coming up with but we need them to get more of a professional feel to them.

Theme: fun - corporate - clean - artsy - eclectic - girl punk - semi graffiti - semi destroyed - cartoon/ juno lettering style - lowercase lettering - upscale

These are some more images and a few fonts we have found that seem to work more for what we are aiming towards

thanks again for all the work looking forward to seeing your new creations!

these are some logos we like for our logo style:

and these are the two fonts we have chosen, we are not sure which one we like more tho:

#68 LogoHobyist

Great designs! We have a couple of requests to make.

1. Could you give us other combinations besides pink and purple to look at

The brown and white look good. We want to see what a more masculine set of colors would do to your logo idea. Or at least more gender neutral. The only other colors we are really looking at are orange, yellow, the light purple, a darker pink ( than the one used on 68), possibly highlights of turquoise.

2. In the number 68 design could you try it with a lowercase " y " as well

3. Could you take #68 and try it in the Rolina font?

-Rolina Font (dafonts.com) http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=rolina&page=1&nb_ppp_old=50&text=yoghies&nb_ppp=50&psize=m&classt=alpha&l[]=10&l[]=1

Other than that great concept we really like the design!

Wow thanks cpd, you just saved us a lot of trouble! Ok, so swirls are out LogoTournament designers, so we have to go a different route. We saw a logo that we are really interested in, so we've made it semi-easy for you, by deciding on the following specifications:

(If done in Adobe Photoshop)
1. Transparent background
2. Lowercase lettering
3. Rolina font spelling yoghies (optional)
4. Style (under Buttons) names Flat Rounded Normal
5. Blending Options:
Drop Shadow Spread at 20%, Distance at 10%, Size at 10%
Bevel & Emboss: Depth at 100%, Soften at 16%, Size at 20%
Stoke: Size of Structure at 3-5px (optional)
6: Color choices:
Turquoise: #4dc2f0
Dark Pink: #d80073
Yellow: #ffe000
Light Purple: #c78cda
Orange: #e56c0c
Dark Brown: #542c0c
(really liked it in all dark brown, but needed some pops of color, but feel free to do something else)

Thanks everyone!!!

I wish to clarify an important point: A swirl is a very generic concept as it relates to the branding of certain foods like ice cream, yogurt, coffee, and others. A careful reading of the issue that Pinkberry has taken with other companies has to do with those other companies encroaching too closely upon an overall look and 'feel' they have created in their branding and merchandising. Some instances had to do with names sounding too similar, a swirl/fruit combination graphic, marketing materials/photos directly ripped from Pinkberry and re-tasked for a competitor, and even a storefront using a similarly 'minimalist' approach.

In this contest, a swirl doubling as a fruit would surely be a no-go, as would using trademarked and distinctive typographic elements already used by Pinkberry (or others).

As in any other logo contest here at Logotournament, designers must endeavor to present works which are significantly different than the contest holder's competitors in the same market space. As mentioned, a swirl is altogether generic in this context - it's the application of it that one has to be careful with.
