How to Rank and Thank Designers: When it comes time for final rankings, designers appreciate when you choose the top three CONCEPTS (as opposed to variations of the same design) for the gold, silver and bronze awards. If you want to rank two different concepts by the same designer in the top three, that's fine. Also, rank as many entries as possible, because designers get points added to their overall site standing for each blue ribbon they get.
This is how points are distributed:
1st place - 50 points 2nd place - 20 points 3rd place - 10 points 4-6th place - 5 points 7-10 place - 3 points
After that, each ranked entry gets one point for the designer. Nobody will be insulted by being ranked last, the points are still good! So if you pull some entries out of the "Not Interested" group and give them a rank, the designer gets some benefit from entering your contest.
Hope that's helpful, lots of contest holders don't realize this and most are glad to know. It's a good way to thank designers who don't win the contest prize, but who worked very hard to offer you lots of options to choose from for a great logo.
I see that do visit to rank, but I am unsure if you are giving considerations to the newer arrivals, such as myself. I entered your competition almost a day ago and have recieved no feedback or nothing. This gives us newer entering designers the feeling that you have already decided who has won the competition. I am sure that you are busy, however, if you want the best design possible you need to consider all of your options here and give feedback on a regular basis.
I would like to keep making newer designs here, or at least modify my others already submitted, but am unsure that any of my hard work would even be considered.
Hello Dave, (#227) I have been giving feedbacks and im trying to rank entries very religiously so that i am fair to everyone at the end of the day. Now you entered the contest late and looking at your entries, it seems you have taken bits of ideas from all the major players in the contest and made your designs. Looking at your designs that is what i thought and its not just you there have been many designers who have done that. I dont know if its consciously or unconsciously. What i was looking for was every designer bringing their own set of ideas to the table but most of the designs after day 8 or 9 seem to be somewhat similar to or inspired by the top 5 designs.
But in all ive seen some excellent work and talent and i am very impressed with the talent some designers have. Great work.
That's okay, I was just making sure that it was worth my time here. Now that I know that you are looking at all newer entries I will continue to submit newer versions, but could you kindly give me feedback on what you like or dislike here. My concepts are not that of others, just what naturally comes first to mind when I think of clean, renewable wind and solar power companies.
I do very much so appreciate that you have looked at the entries but other than saying it's the same as others, there is nothing to go on. I thought that I was being unique in the placement of the images used, but apparently not. If you have any suggestions for me that would be great.
