Thanks for these designs! #13 is on the right track - good "iconic" style with the flame (is that what it's supposed to be?) and radiating circle. Nice to see the formatting options with #13 and #12.
Would like to see some other symbols - whatever symbol / icon we ultimately choose, we want it to mean something (refer back to the 3 descriptors in the brief: authenticity, community-focus, growth). It should communicate something about who we are.
In terms of Christian symbolism, the flame *could* imply a charismatic / pentecostal slant which is not consistent with who we are.
Thanks jekson - we really like your designs. We're intrigued by the wheat image - our staff is not in agreement about it, but some really like it (Xenia is a farming community after all).
The "swirly" tree logo is cool in general, but is a bit too playful and feminine to be an acceptable church logo for us.
We posted this note on the main contest page, but just want you to think about using a sans serif font - all the submissions we've received using serif fonts seem a bit too conservative/conventional - check out the demo site from Clover of the website we are developing to see the font that will be used on our site (one thing about the template is that we don't have control over the font - it's a very clean, simple sans serif). http://demo.cloversites.com/demo/2agic/greenhouse/demo/
Thanks again - there's no doubt you are a talented designer. At this point, however, we haven't seen anything on the contest that we're excited enough about to ditch our current logo for...
