What We Do
Real Estate Agents - Simple logo required

Real Estate
Color Preferences
We have no colour preference, but the logo should only be 1 or 2 colours, suitable for use on a white background. Greyscale, minimal is fine, one colour as an accent is ok too.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The logo should be simple! Very minimal, clean and sophisticated. X2 means "times 2" because you get two agents doing what normally only one agent would do, so the logo can represent co-operation, excellent service, etc. We'd like to see STRONG typography. A clever lettermark would be great, and a small abstract mark could work. Don't spend ages illustrating something incredible - we're looking for simple. Also the logo should just say X2, no real estate, no property. We may add these later, but for now just X2.

#3 looks good but it's too "edgy" and high-tech looking. With a name like x2 we are trying to avoid making it look like a video game or an energy drink (cause that's kind of what it sounds like....). Thanks!

So many great entries already thanks guys! Sorry if the rankings are changing a bit - there's a few people making decisions and you know how awful democracies are (especially for designers).

Once I meet with everyone and tell them what they should like I'll give more feedback.

Try keep the logos legible though - there are a few which look awesome (such as #12) but are probably going to confuse people with out any sub text ("hmmm, what is that... x2? 2x?"). You get the idea.

Also, in some the "2" is too small - it needs to be legible at small sizes. Thanks :)

Would like to see a bit more variety in type faces... maybe some a bit fancier...

Hey guys, I just "not interested" a bunch of designs - all basically because:

a) they were not high end/classy/stylish enough, or

b) they looked too "technolgy-ish" - it can't look like the logo for a microsoft product, or

c) they weren't legible enough. We need the logo to be instantly read as "X2". A lot are a bit too abstract, or ambiguous. We kept some because we like the look, but we can't use anything that's not an obvious "X2" for this one.

Loving a lot of the stuff that's coming through though, keep it up.

hey designers, while there's some great stuff coming through, it's all very similar. I've got some feedback from the others and we would like to see a bit more variety, some more colour, a bit more complexity (I know, it was supposed to be simple) and a lot more style.

By style I mean something that reflects the high end nature of our business. We sell big, riverfront apartments, and really need to appeal to rich investors, and people who enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

Flourishes, swirls, and some more abstract marks would be great to see. Thanks :)

If I may say so, that change of mind is an unfortunate surprise, because the initial briefing made perfect sense. IMHO a name as cryptic and short as X2 demands something modern, simplistic, maybe something smart or even magical but definitely not ornamentation like flourishes.

thanks barry, you are right. but unfortunately we were just getting a whole bunch of really, really similar entries, and i just wanted to try and inspire people to be original... something magical would be great :)

The similarity in designs may be due to your notes stating 'Don't spend ages illustrating something incredible - we're looking for simple.'....a designer's interpretation will read that to mean 'very basic/ in both font and design. Maybe if you give complete freedom to design in black and white and gray as you indicated, it might be easier to down play the compexity rather than try to create complex from simple.

@teregraphics - yeah thanks for that. I understand what you mean, but I also did say we are looking for STRONG typography and something clever. I probably overstated the simplicity angle - I won't make that mistake again.

I really just didn't want anyone to spend hours and hours designing something truly incredible, only for it to be shelved... i know how frustrating that would be. I'm sure if I said "do anything" and then people spent hours making awesome logos and I then said "I just want something simple" I would have inspired even more anger...

With so many talented designers here, and so many contests on this site, I'd be much happier for designers to go and have a crack at another contest and have a good shot at getting some money, then come here, see "clean, simple" and just throw up anything.

Anyway, thanks again for your feedback. So if anyone has a GREAT IDEA that doesn't quite fall within the brief, than go for it :)
