The wrestlers on #38 are very hard to pick out. I'm not sure I would have been able to do it without the benefit of having seen #37. Otherwise, that look seems somewhat common, and doesn't really pop to me. I do like the position of the wrestlers, that it's not an extremely commonly used pose.
I like how #29 uses video and wrestling in the image. The logo needs to have the words Wrestling Video Solutions in it, so that's good too. I think I'd prefer to remove the arch, and flat gradient from the text. I know this isn't the finished version, but it looks too flat right now. I think the words need to be directly adjacent to each other. That way, I can easily use the words separately if I needed to, for some reason, and it would still have some level of similarity to the actual logo. I like the 3D aspect of this one too. I like that the reel is being used like the mat. There's something about a reel though, it's a little out-dated, and we're a fairly high tech company what we do. I think you have some interesting things in this that aren't in some of the other logos.
#42 is my overall favorite of the bunch. The bulk of the logo is still very clean and simple The two triangles is almost like a fast forward symbol, which implies a kind of intensity that is common on wrestling. The met are clearly distinguishable as wrestlers. Maybe they could be simplified a little further, and I'm not sure I like where the right wrestler is reaching, but I think this is a strong contender.
Now that we've made it to the final 5, I'd like to try a few things. #42 is very good. I'd like to see it on a black background, and with some use of light introduced. I mean, I'd like to see what it looks like in a little more polished format.
I think I'd prefer the SOLUTIONS on the black background was just solid white, rather than an outline. I think I'd like to see an on black and an on white version of #55 that is stylized better with lighting, and a slight 3D look. I like the justification of the text on #66, and the lighter, more squared off font on #66.
Is it possible to have the wrestler on the right pull his arm back a little, so it doesn't look like he's reaching for the other wrestler's crotch? It's a small issue, but something I'd like to address before we make it final. I'm also curious to see if it would look better to have the light between the two red V and the red triangle fall though the black gap there, rather than reflect off of the surface of the gap. That way, they look like two pieces rather than one.
Yes, I understand that, and I like it. I'd just like to make the gap between the W and the V non-reflective. Right now, it looks like the black space between the W and the V is reflecting light, making them look connected by a black surface.
I think we're getting down towards the end of this and I am pretty sure this will be my final request. I would like to see the red be lit from the top, such that the brighter part of the logo is at the top, like the light is coming from above. I'd also like to see a slightly brighter red in the logo, so that it pops more. and I'd like to see 4 final versions.
- 1 with lighting on white. - 1 with lighting on black. - 1 with only black, white, red and no light, on white. - And one with only black, white and red and no light, on black.
