We like your entries! Can you play with the font a bit? Maybe font similar to WongTegal entry (the one with the bird perched on the "W"). Tail feathers should be white, outer wing tips white, but shoulder of wing should be dark. Your green background entry has the colors of the bird right, we'd like to see it in your white background entries. Also, we don't need the subtext "Wildlife research and habitat restoration. Finally, can you try entries 21 and 22 with a mountain scape rather than an arch (similar to Gaviota Coast)? Thank you! These look great and the best we've received so far :)

I need to clarify, outer wing tips should be dark on the underside, towards the end of the wing, then there is a small black patch that right on the shoulder of the wing on the underside. I just uploaded a photo that shows the underside again. Please keep your other entries up and submit new revisions. thank you

We like #52 the best so far. Can you play with the birds head on the horizon. We do like the second horizon but where it interfaces with the head looks a bit odd right now. Not sure if it needs to come up or down. Also, the second horizon behind the bird looks a bit off. Maybe needs to trail out longer or drop less sharply.

Can you give us a few more fonts for #52? Some a bit stronger? Also, we decided we don't need the grass in the lettering.

Forgot to add, we like the way you drew the organization of the feathers in #30, but the shading looks better in #52, however can you play with the underside of the wing shading a bit more? I will upload another photo of the underside. There is a black spot right at the corner of the wing that we'd like to match.

thank you

Sorry, match the shading of the wing to #22 but with a black spot at the corner of the wing (see latest photos)

Hi
Due to possible copyright issues, my entries was removed by staff, as the bird was made base on the images you provided. Please extend the contest time so I can redo the bird. Right now I can`t post any new entries as on this stage of the contest only 5 first ranked designers can post.
Sorry for inconvinience.
Thank you

Hi Sofiko,

I have asked admin to extend the open period. I was surprised they removed your images, you had submitted our favorites by far. I think the solution is to change the bird slightly to make it a bit different from the photos I had uploaded (now removed). Trouble is that white tailed kites look like white tailed kites so we don't want it changed too much. I will shoot you a note as soon as I hear back from admin.

Thanks,
John

Hi Sofiko,

I found the link to extend the open period. I am also working on securing the rights to the photo that you based your image on. In the mean time, if you can submit some similar logos with a slightly different bird that would be great, we will rank you in the top 5 to ensure you get into the closed phase.

Take care,
John

Hi John,
I have uploaded a few new variations of the bird. Please take a look.
Thank you for understanding :)

This looks very good! I'm working on securing rights to the previous image you used, but I may like this one better. I'll run it by my partners tomorrow and see what they think. Thanks!

Entry 76 is our favorite of yours right now. The coast line/mountains and position of the bird are great. It gives the impression that the bird is hovering over the coastal plain. We like that connection. However, the shape of the tail is a bit off. White tailed kites have longer, straighter tails with squared off edges. Please review images online to get a better sense of what the tail looks like in that pose. Also, can you play with the bend of the bird's right wing (the wing on the left most side of the image)? The wing should be a bit straighter (approximately half the angle you currently have from a straight wing). This would be a more accurate to what they look like hovering.

Also, I have purchased copyright to the side profile photograph that you used previously. We are still undecided which pose we like better (#76 or your previous side profile pose). Can you re-enter your prior ones?

Thank you!

Hi John,

Please review the new changes in the numbers #105 and #106 with new tail and wing.
As about the previous pose: I have send the message to the admin if I am allowed to place this entry back and waiting for response. I`ll let you know his answer.

Thank you

The wing needed to get moved the other direction (more straight, less bend) rather than more bent. Look at the upper right photo in the image "White-Tailed_Kite_HoveringSequence_SXL". You see how its almost, but not quite straight with the feather bent out very slightly? The tail looks better, could maybe be spread even less, again see same photo in upper right. I know that these details might seem a little too much, but given a large proportion of our customers will be professional birders we want to get it right so they don't poke fun at it :)

I purchased permission from Ron Reznick to use the hovering sequence photos for reference in the development of a potentially very similar image for our logo design so feel free to use that hovering sequence to get your drawing correct.

Take care

Hi Sofiko,

Consensus among the partners is that the 3/4 view of the bird is nice, but stylistically, the side profile (as in #50) is cleaner and artistically pleasing. The side view works best with the box that you added. So #50 is our favorite, but we'd also like you to resubmit the version of #50 with the coastline below. However, do you mind modifying the wing slightly to reduce the black leading edge, add the black dot that we mentioned before (as you did in #58), and make the outermost flight feathers on the wing evenly spread, rather than clumped as they are in #50 and #58. Also, consensus is that we all like the font in #50 the best so stick with it in all further entries.

Thank you!

Hi Sofiko,

Can you make the tail on #123 look like the tail on #50? Also make the wing on #50 look like the tail on #123. On #123, cut the bottom of the coast just a bit to move the text up.

Thank you!

Hi Sofiko,
#127 and #128 are pretty almost done in our opinion, but wondering if you can make the wing feathers (numbers and shapes) look more like the wing of the side profile bird you originally submitted (that got removed by admin). I've posted a screen shot of it to show you. What we like about the wing on that image is the length of the wing and the number of flight feathers. Your more recent images have a shorter, rounder wing with less feathers. The current wings look a little more cartoony and less refined. All you need to do is take the exact wing off your image I'm going to upload (feathers, shading, length...exact wing) and add the dark spot at the bend and put it on 127 and 128 and you are done. We don't want you to redraw it again, because it has the best shape and shading. We really appreciate your flexibility in providing all the options we asked for and apologize that it took us a bit to see what works best.

If you don't want me to leave that image up too long, shoot me a note as soon as you want me to take it down.

Thank you so much!
John
