What We Do
WHART is an innovative, native mobile app on iOS and Android that aims to become the reference platform that links art (museums, exhibitions, art galleries, etc.) to its public (visitors, experts, tourists, art lovers, families, etc).

Through a very clean and innovative user interface, you can get all that art can suggest at your fingertips: all museums and events (exhibitions, etc) around you and in top cities, wherever you are or plan to go.

WHART presents all art places and art events in a geolocated way, and in all mobile formats : lists, maps, calendar, details, search tool, news-feed, etc.

WHART also provides additional services, such as: newswire, alerts & notifications, podcasts, videos, conferences, etc.

A very rich content available through a user friendly, very modern and minimalist user interface, that provides you with complete and very-useful information, whatever your centers of interest are.

WHART addresses all visual arts and fine arts (and not: living arts), i.e. : painting, sculpture, engraving, drawing, photo, design, architecture, fashion.

WHART USERS:
- Art lovers that are frequently visiting museums, art exhibitions, galleries.
- Tourists, families and more regular users that are not always thinking about art events, but that could see with this app a nice way to find great opportunities for visits and information.
- Art experts, museums directors, artists, who will seek accurate information.

WHART VALUES:
- unrivalled quality (of the content, of the app, of the service provided to the mobile user)
- authenticity
- legitimacy
- credibility
- kindness
- opening
- innovation
- international.

WHART KEY ELEMENTS:
- we bring together the community of art lovers
- we engage and federate the community of professionals from the world of art and art history
- we are "the map and the compass" of the art world, in a modern world
- we put the mobile at the service of art
- we address two communities (art lovers and art professionals) that have a high sense of beauty and a good level of aesthetic requirement
- at the same time, we want to extend the audience of art, to ease, to "democratize", to make it more accessible, precisely thanks to the mobile and our app
- in other words, we give the art world new and strong visibility,
- we contribute to better outreach
- we must be desirable, not intimidating or divisive.

WHAT WHART IS NOT :
- we are not an online e-commerce platform for arts
- we are not a "virtual art" platform, enabling virtual visits through your mobile

LOGO EXTRA INFO
- A pictural or abstract mark, an icon would be better than a wordmark type.
- It could be interesting to also clearly see the structure of the word with the "WH" (WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE -> WHART: this is the essence of WHART) and "ART"
- The logo should be bringing the art world into 2022 digital world. It should be desirable, artistic, modern, catchy. And global.
- It has to be seen and understood, liked and remembered at once.

Read carefully the brief and the reference logos - no need to propose options that are far from what we expect.

Also: Wordmark types will not work out. Don't loose time on this.

You can work also on "illustrative" logos with a pictural mark around the ART domain: museum / color pallet / frame / ...

After review with our customer, we need to make additional explanation to move forward. Some very important points

1/ Only Pictural logos will work, that relate to ART. It means that there should be an icon, usable for an APP, figurative, that reminds the art area. It can be a museum, a color palette, a pencil, a statue... or anything we are missing.

2/ The colors that would work would be to choose among red / orange / blue / green / purple / gold

3/ We would like to see a work around a combination of a color pallet and WHART, where color drops would be replaced by letters of WHART. See a very bad and simple mockup of this idea: https://we.tl/t-gDrsbIvp9S BUT we are open to suggestions around that !

And again important general comments :
- Logo must be usable on white background, black background and black & white
- Logo must be usable as APP icon

Surprise us !

Some additional information that can be useful:

1/ For PICTURAL MARK type, you can search idea around the EYE symbol, that can be more or less explicit. The EYE as the key element to enjoy ART.

2/ For WORDMARK purpose, the WHART must have two key elements:
- ART must be clearly visible
- You should add a "?" at the end as WHART? to symbolize the questions answered by the app (WHO WHEN WHAT...)

3/ Last option would be to use an ART Symbol that is world famous and use it in a nice and minimalist way (https://www.timeout.com/newyork/art/top-famous-paintings-in-art-history-ranked)

Fellow designers
Regarding the EYE symbol, if you didn't submitted before this CH's comment, please do not submit the EYE concept.
