Hi
Great to see a New Zealand contest here!
Here's my concept, simple so that it can easily and cleanly be printed on the welders, and in white so could comfortably sit on either the red or the black areas of the welders.
Cheers
Mark

Here's a red version for if you were printing it on white, such as letterheads, emails, or the internet etc. Would also work in black.

Hi Mark,
It's great to get a kiwi designer on board! Thanks for your input!

I like the simplicity of your thoughts, although I feel your design needs a bit more style, especially in the font.

Are you able to give some thought around the possibility of using lower case and perhaps incorporating the tail of the "g" into the design somehow? what about italics also? Maybe a stylised "s" could be used for good effect?

I want the final logo to reflect the quality and reliability of the product.

Hi, here's a new variation, using the tail of the y as the mig gun.
Could be cut out of a metallic silver vinyl, giving it that reflective look.

#37 Thanks for the new variation. It is moving closer to where we want to head, but I find it to be a bit plain. I feel the answer is in the style of the font. I don't really want just plain square block style font.

Can I suggest you concentrate your thoughts on finding a font and style that communicates quality and reliability, then build the logo around that to give it the professional look we want.

Cheers...

Hi
Here's a new version,
Just wondering. how were you planing on printing the logo onto the machine? i.e. were they going to be screen-printed, or cut vinyl, or a sticker etc?

#82 Hi Mark,
We will use stickers on the machines as well as clear oval domes. I'm not sure what they are called, but they look really effective!

I think this is your best design so far but I feel it lacks the style of some of the others. The font is a bit square and the design could possibly use a splash of colour, perhaps the flash?

Maybe you could get creative with the "y" or the "g"?

Thanks for your efforts!

#107 You are going to make it very hard for us to pick the number one! I really like this design.

However I feel it could benifit from a splash of colour. Perhaps blue flashes? Are you able to start with white in the centre and fade into a deep blue as it radiats out?

Are you also able to slightly darken the grey around the text so it stands out just a wee bit more?

#107 We have decided that the winning entry will have an ellement of red in the design. Is there any chance of you adding some red into this design. Instead of blue in the flash (as I suggested above), could you make it red?

#153 Sorry to be a pain, but is there any chance you could make the flashes look more red?

Just came up with a slight variation... a couple of rivets to give it an even more industrial look.

#155 I like the addition of the rivets! but the red looks a bit like light orange on my screen. Are you able to make it really red?

Hi,
Those last riveted two were before I saw the message to make the flashes redder.
Here are the last 4 submissions with redder flashes now.
