Hey there - thank you for the ranking. Please let me know if you would like to see any changes to any of the design, especially #8.

Hi Ignacio, your very welcome. All three posts are awesome.

As for #8, do you think adding any yellow, or a sun would change it too much?

I like the font, the somewhat simplicity, the leaf and berries, it truly is my favorite so far.

Possible enlarge the brown font slightly?

I don't know what else to suggest, thank you very much,, Jim.

Hello Jim - Thank you for your feedback. I've added a sun element to #52 and #53. The difference in these two designs is in the placement of the sun and leaf elements. For #54, I thought I would show you something resembling the label of an old school produce shipping crate. For this design, I added a tag line that reads, "beautify Canada" to show you that there is room for a short, two-word tag line for the design (maybe "est 19??" or some such....).

I'm keeping in mind that you will probably use the design for your trucks. So either design would work well in a rectangular shape typical for vehicle magnets. I'm also keeping things easily translatable to black and white in case you want to have embroidered patches made for uniforms.

Ok - please let me know your thoughts and if you'd like to see any other changes.

Best,
Ignacio

Hi Ignacio,

Thank you again. Great job!

#52 really makes me smile when I look at it. I just wonder if a slightly darker green would make weedaway a little more prominent to read, or would it take away from the leaf color?

#54 is very very nice too. And yes adding est. 1987 and or something else is a great idea! I wonder if messing around a bit with some color shades or yellow to make the name weedaway stand out more?

But to tell you the truth both of those entries look completely awesome just as they are.

Cheers! jim.

Hey Jim -

Thanks for the great message.

I've actioned the comments you provided as follows:

for #64 (new version of #52) - I darkened the text and added a treatment so the text would pop a little more.
for #65 (new version of #54) - I changed the background color to yellow, darkened both the text and the leaves and brightened the rising sun in the background so you now can see it better. I also added "Est 1987". I could add the Est tagline to the other design as well, let me know.

I hope one of these works better for you. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks again,
Ignacio

Hey Ignacio,

Thanks man, I like these logo's. And so so all the people I ask. I am the only one who seems to have a heart for my second ranked one. But...I have to say that is as far as that one will go.

One person I asked is a guy who does my promo gadgets like cups, pens, T-shirts, and all that kinda stuff. He asks about a one color logo and is liking the "W" in the box with the flowers around it and says it is good for print. Now this is from his business point of view. I have a hard time with it when put beside your entries.

In saying that how would your logo's do in black and white in a newspaper or faxing or whatever? And is there a one color option at all? My friend ask me to ask you.

This is the first time I have ever used a site like this, what happens after the tournament, do we keep in contact and can do more business together? Or does this become a conflict with logotournament.com? Just asking as I do have a couple more business's and one that needs a logo.

Cheers, Jim.

Hey Jim -

Thanks for the message. What I normally do after the contest ends is to send my clients the two files you will get from here as well as high resolution jpg and png files in both color and black and white. I always send a black and white version of each logo I design in case the client needs it as you've indicated. I will also send you a contact sheet with all the color and font information for your records. If you end up needing any additional files, like a one-color version, we can also discuss those after the contest ends. And it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Also when the contest ends, I will provide you with my direct contact information and hopefully do some more business. It is only a conflict with this site if a designer offers free services as a way to entice a Contest Holder to select his/her work. As a rule, I always approach each new client I get from this site as well as keep in touch with them in case some new business comes up. I've always had very good experiences as a result.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. It's been great working with you.

Best,
Ignacio

Hey Jim - I thought I would show you a black and white version of the logo so you could see how it might work. Please take a look at #69. If you needed a single-color version, it would look about the same.

Thank you!

Wow, it looks just as awesome in black and white.

Without a doubt I am going to go with #64 as my 1st choice.

Is there a benefit to the other designers as to where I rank there submissions? As a couple other designers have been extremely helpful such as yourself. I realize this is work for them and would ranking them properly at 2nd and 3rd before I pick your design of any importance? As I see the gold, silver, and bronze cups I am assuming this may represent 2nd, 3rd and so placement in rankings?

Once again thank you ever so much for all your assistance through this process. Jim.

Thank you Jim -

As far as ranking, designers get points for rankings from one to ten as follows:
1st - 50 points
2nd - 20 points
3rd - 10 points
4th to 10th - 2 points each

The points help in the overall ranking on the site. Which is helpful when clients are reviewing portfolios. So even if one doesn't win, the points associated with second and third are very helpful. I encourage to rank through the ten spot if possible. The gold, silver and bronze correspond to first, second and third place.

Ok - if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks again,
Ignacio

Hi Ignacio,

I ended the contest with your design winning. Thank you very much.

Do you design Estimate/Quotation forms, business cards, and Invoices? I would get everything printed up here, but if do that kind of work and have time for it I would hire you to do the art work for me. If not that is alright I can find someone local.

My email address is jweedaway@msn.com if you need to contact me.

Thanks again and have a great day, Jim.
