#1 Rogerson~ Thank you so much. Can you make the icon a little bigger? I would like to see more versions of this. Please note we shorten and changed teh slogan or tag line. Also tag line is not needed, but I would like to see with and without version. This will be great to see more examples. The usage of the grey is interesting. The design above clever because it shows "connecting". I look forward to other concepts as well. Any chance you can incorporate the wordmark inside a shape? I am more curious ... thanks for joining us on our journey...!

Hi Regantr6, The tag line is not right because "created by" is missing.
I like #4 the best that you submitted. I am still debating the boxed in approach but appreciate the concepts...

Would you be willing to tone down the color or try a few combination's?
Let's try optimizing connections instead of created by volunteers for volunteers (whihc is too long).
It is clever with the green boxes for VT.

Thank you kindly,

#5 Noki, I like the rounded corners, but I would prefer the letter not run right to the edge. The lettering has the appearance of being cut off. I do like the upper and lower case lettering. Can you combine with some color?

Thanks...

#6 tkman,
I am unclear...are you suggesting a word mark with grey background or is the grey the shape of the logo?
Because we are going to use this in a variety of forms I am not keen on the uppercase lettering...it feels like shouting.

Appreciatively, VolunteerTrac team.

To all the creatives out there...thanks so much for joining our journey. Please experiment with color, work marks, icons and word marks without boarders as well.

Have any of you ever made paper dolls? The image of people---connecting---working together---Think diversity...think worldwide...

Also our product has a focus on "time" and the volunteers contribution...
I love shadows...or mirror imaging...any "refection" type of mocks ups would be fun to see.

Please note today (our first day of the contest) we changed our tag line from "created by volunteers for volunteers" due to length...and changed it to "optimizing connections". We are flexible if the taqgline needs to be included. We would love two versions...one with and one without if possible.

Each day we will re-rank and update what we like. #1 is the cleanest...see notes for what we would like modified. We are not hooked on any yet. We look forward to seeing more diversity.

Thanks all...

Honestly I wish the tag line was more flushed out...sorry it isn't yet...

Thanks everyone.

What a great gift to sign in today and see such wonderful results. I have sent this link out to my staff, volunteers, advisers, and graphic talent for input. I will post feedback this evening.

I noticed a couple of designers posted work with 3 colors. I think we want to stay with two colors.

thanks kindly...wow... I am thrilled and think that this is moving in the right direction.

thanks again!

#7,8,9,11 Heru, I love the colorful icon but wonder about the difficulty implementing this in different media. It picks up strongly on optimizing, but the people part is left out. I like the variety of examples. It is obvious you put a lot of time in. Many thanks, Bonnie

#10 and #42, thanks for the VT...it is clean and crisp. I like #42 better because is shows the volunteer trag and tag line better.

#13-20 , My two favorites are # 14 (optimizing seems too small). I like the color combination a lot. I like the design format of #19 a lot. The icon for me doesn't have relevance with volunteer trac. Any chance you would have time to switch #19 to the blue and grey colors and use the VT icon on #19? Just a thought. Thanks so much.

#21 thanks so much for some clever designing. People on a globe is very thoughtful. The challenge is when reducing the icon the reader can't tell they are people. The first couple of times I missed this. Thanks for listening to our mission.

#5 , 41,34,33,23,22 Noki, thanks so much for your entries. I like 3l and 23 the best. Plese make sure the reader can read the tag line. Optimizing seems too small.

#24 Rogerson, welcome back! Thanks for another clean submission. The VT stacked is clever, not sure I like the brown-ish color...but also showed design to men and they thought it looked like a flower...

#25-28 Paul, love the symbolism with people. I like 27(except I dont' want three colors-sorry) and 28 (seems optimizing is light?) Any chance you can experiment a little more with both of these?.

#35 (and #36) weddingc, are you sure you haven't seen our software? (smiling)
In #35 the V as a check in the checkbox really captures our functionality of our software. Even though I asked for designs with the reflection would you mind trying a version without the mirror image? Also can you try a couple of different color combination's? Blue and Grey, or grey and purple, or blue w/blue etc. #36 too busy...

Can you ad the tagline please and remove the shadow. I can't wait to see this...

thanks so much Bonnie

#37-40 the icons to me don't have the relevance of our mission ---or maybe I don't understand.

#43 and #44 Rogerson, nice contributions...really clean. I like 44 better. I wonder if you can reduce icon and place to the left...huge thanks, Bonnie

Thanks for the input Bonnie. Sorry I got a bit carried away with color combination. You can muck any of those to clear up the clutter. I was about to stop when I realized you wanted the fixed design without the tagline. Hopefully I've gotten closer to your ideas.

#68, nicely done with the hands. Clever with the VT.
Did you experiment with the Upper and lower case. My concern with caps is sometimes this is perceived as "shouting". Would you mind doing VolunteerTrac vs VOLUNTEERTRAC

Thank you so much.

Hi folks,

We have started to eliminate logos...and rank... to the top 12.

I met today with our leadership team. Of course opinions were all over the place...but here are common agreements:
1. lowercase lettering for optimizing connections. We are still debating on the 2nd word. We are thinking about optimizing resources or optimizing people or optimizing time. We would like to have you be aware of this in case any of this triggers more creativity.
2. Brown is out
3. Icons that have no relevance to people, or the name of the product or at least initials are probably out.
4. Blues, greens, grey's seem to be working for us.
5. Limit to two colors please.
6. We are interested in any images related to the world...think about virtual volunteers working with volunteers who work in a office environment.
7. My team really likes the people symbolism. (the ones #46 & #28.)
8. For our software # 56 & 42 have caught our attention.
Our team is very impressed and we are thrilled with the global creativity.
Thank you so much...for joining us on our journey.

#82, thanks for switching to people in the globe...big improvement. Can you experiment with color. In our original brief we mentioned to not have a heavy use of black. I would love to see a few combination of color.

I am out doing errands until late this evening. We will see what new submissions we receive. Many thanks,

any suggestions for my design? #56

#56 we love it and are back and forth...(the decision will not be a simple one). What we like is the simplicity.

If you want to tackle a new concept we are still open. Thank you so much.
See #6 in my comments above.

Enjoy...Bonnie

Dear CH,
if this is your first time using this site could you please spare a minute to read this post:
https://logotournament.com/forum/general_discussion/914
even if you have used the site before i would definitely recommend reading it as it contains some important info that I'm sure you will find very helpful.
also, if you could please use each designers individual entries page to communicate one on one (by clicking one of the logos above) and save this area for group feedback and briefing updates that would be great as it makes things much easier for us =)
thanks!

Hi Bugy,
I appreciate the question. Yes, I am a newbie and yes I read your link. From the CH point of view I Wish I had the time to reply in deeper conversations with each artist, but I really don't.. I also am not a fan of silo'd conversations. I prefer to be fair to all, and let all designer know my thoughts. Sorry to cause tension or stress. Overall this has been a very positive experience. I am very impressed with the process. I do understand the judging and ranking.

#136, Erwin, thanks for adding the tagline. Can you do some other colors? In the brief we didn't want to use too much black. (Thanks so much) I am assuming you tried the V icon in place of the v? Or did you?

Dear Designers,

As some of you may have noticed we had one designer get removed through the logo court process.
We have extended the contest 2 additional days.
Here is what we are seeking:
A TM for trademark- where would you place the TM?
We are liking the greys, with blues, the blues and greens . Feel free to post a variety of colors combination. and the blue and green example or two.
We met with our web/graphic development team today and feel the best fit for our site is the more horizontal approach versus vertical. Many of you have icons above the lettering. Please experiment moving the icons to the left.
We do want the tag line optimizing connections in lower case.
Icons that have the relevance to either people or our product are listed in the top 12. In two cases logos are too close to our competitors design. I will write those designer to show them my concern.
I will be writing each of you this evening.

Appreciatively,

Bonnie

The TM (trademark) in the US can't have a circle around it. Our government requires companies that don't have their trademark approved is just plain TM, The TM needs to be caps. Nice and small is fine.
