Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please avoid images such as two hands shaking or a plain globe. Since we offer web-based services using the newest information and social networking technology, it would be great to see something that communicates knowledge and connection with a web 2.0 feel.

If we find a design that we really like, we may contract the designer for additional work.

#5 I like the color combination. I'd love to see something other than the "V" image.

Most of the entries are emphasizing the word "Virtual." Emphasizing it is okay, but it shouldn't dominate over "Health Partners."

Thanks!

#7 Would like to see "Virtual Health Partners" in title case, with spaces between words, and with no bold. Also, the tagline needs to be bigger because it would not be legible on smaller logos at the current size.

#10 - Love the image and the font. You were really able to translate the brief into a logo.

#12 - The image is good, but the font makes the logo look like something you'd find at a medical center.

Designer dee - the fonts you're choosing for your designs just don't fit with an online brand that utilizes the latest technology. I also wish you didn't withdraw your entries that I marked "Not Interested." In the spirit of the contest, those images that I'm not interested in can help other designers understand what I am looking for.

So far there is only one design that *really* communicates the brand is about. I would really love to see more submissions! I am checking in regularly if you have any questions, so please feel free to ask! Thanks to everyone who has submitted!

Design #15 clearly looks like a copy of #10 with a slight variation. Is this acceptable?

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the new designs! For #19 and #22, the medical "+" symbol isn't really appropriate. We don't provide healthcare, but a health and wellness service.

#25 - I like your fonts and the darker green. the lighter green is probably a little too light. although i think i do understand where you're coming from on the image, it's not quite there. i don't like the heart shape, but maybe something similar? would also like to see community represented more than an individual.

#28 I like the way you've positioned everything, although, the font feels too corporate. i'd also like to see the tagline bigger as it's a little hard to read.

would love to see a new image in #25 and #28.

#29 #30 #31 - I mentioned in previous comments that the medical "+" symbol is not appropriate for this brand.

#32 #33 #34 I don't like the image as I don't think it embodies "family" and not "community." Also, I think the gray background would look nice on the web, but not in print, and I need a logo that will work well in both.

Hi Everyone,
Some more general feedback - please note that we are not a medical company, or a medical service. We produce online events in holistic health, mostly online conferences. We provide information, access to experts, and connection to a niche community. I tried to be really clear about that in the brief, but a lot of designs are coming back with a medical look & feel.

Even if we were a medical company, the "+" symbol wouldn't translate well because we deal with topics in holistic health. Our clients and customers will go to great lengths to find a natural alternative before they take so much as an aspirin for a headache! A medical look and feel would send them running.

I really wasn't kidding in the brief when I said think "modern hippie!" Think people who buy organic. Think people who care about the environment. I hope you get the idea. And if you don't, PLEASE feel free to ask me questions!

Thanks, Everyone! Have a good one...

#10 Is it possible to adjust the image just slightly? I got some feedback that it kinda looks like a swastika! I didn't see it, but if someone else did, then I think it's worth changing! Thanks.

#40 I like the image, but the font is dull, and the words are too small. Can you give me some other variations?

#35 #36 Can you play with the shape of that image? I like the look of it, but I don't think the teardrop shape fits. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I really wanted to wrap up the contest tomorrow, but I extended it by a few days because I haven't seen anything yet that's screamed "Pick Me!"
I do appreciate all the submissions and hope you'll keep them coming.
Thanks!

#51 #52 I really like this new design! Can I see a version where #52 looks like #51? I really like what happens to the image when you add the sun rays. They are subtle, but add a positive feel. My only concern is print - would those yellow sun rays work in print?

#51 can I see this with the fonts/colors of #52?

Dear CH, please be more fare when ranking. The first 4 (at least) positions has to be different .
Take a moment a read this, it will be helpful, I think.

July 12th, 2009, 6:35am
I will quote one very helpful for you post:

How to Rank and Thank Designers: When it comes time for final rankings, designers appreciate when you choose the top three CONCEPTS (as opposed to variations of the same design) for the gold, silver and bronze awards. If you want to rank two different concepts by the same designer in the top three, that's fine.
Also, rank as many entries as possible, because designers get points added to their overall site standing for each blue ribbon they get.

This is how points are distributed:

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points

After that, each ranked entry gets one point for the designer. Nobody will be insulted by being ranked last, the points are still good! So if you pull some entries out of the "Not Interested" group and give them a rank, the designer gets some benefit from entering your contest.

Hope that's helpful, lots of contest holders don't realize this and most are glad to know. It's a good way to thank designers who don't win the contest prize, but who worked very hard to offer you lots of options to choose from for a great logo.

Thank you very much in advance,
magnita

Magnita,
I appreciate that feedback and will keep it in mind for the designers who worked hard on my contest.

What I do not appreciate is your entering my contest at the last minute and then suggesting that I am not being fair. You might have entered earlier and given me the opportunity to work with you to achieve the result I was looking for. Entering at the last minute leaves me two options: take it or leave it.

I don't think that last-minute submissions should qualify for rankings over the designers that have worked with me from the start and responded to my feedback.

With all my respect, I post the message and than I decide to enter.
I was far from thought to rank me high or rank me at all. And not most of
the CH are thinking and acting like you.

Congratulations to the winner!

Cheers,
magnita
