What We Do
The legendary folk hero and “air pirate” DB Cooper has inspired the imagination of the country for over 40 years. His unprecedented seizure of a commercial Northwest Orient jet has never been solved. This man of mystery calmly, expertly and with impeccable manners made off with a briefcase full of cash — parachuting into the night — never to be heard of again. The search for Cooper along the plane’s flight path, a highway in the sky between Seattle and Portland known as Victor 23, was the most extensive in US history.
At Victor 23 Brewing, we believe it’s no coincidence that DB Cooper parachuted out of flight 305 over some of the best hop growing country on the planet. It’s our theory Cooper’s intent was to use the money and start a craft brewery like a true visionary. At Victory 23 we are realizing Cooper’s dream and brewing beers in his audacious, but gentlemanly spirit. Inspired by a golden age of aviation and espionage, we like to do things the old fashioned way — keeping a low-profile, trusting that those in-the-know will find us and spin a tale of our adventurous brews to their inside circles.
Intriguing, yet accessible. Bold, yet accommodating. Daring, yet relaxed. Victor 23 is a brewery for those unafraid to take their own leap of faith. Cooper wouldn't have chosen the bourbon if the beer had been better.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Victor 23 is an airway that goes between seattle and reno and is the airway that NW Orient flight 305 was flying when DB Cooper jumped out of the plane with a parachute and a briefcase full of cash. The logo should reinforce this story and the character of DB Cooper whose identity continues to be a mystery.
