We like your "V" rendered like a triangular diamond or rock in #289. It communicates strenght very subtly but effectively. We also appreciate you rendered the "strong" feeling with delicate colors, it's something we have seen too little in this contest.
What doesn't work for us is:
1) We want an horizontal logo and yours is vertical 2) We'd like bolder fonts (but maye the ones you put work with this symbol).
Below, there is an updated "simpler and more open" version of the brief that I send to new designers. (unfortunately I cannot update the brief)
FOLLOW THIS "new" BRIEF ! (it's an update and SIMPLIFICATION of the standard brief) ----------------------------
If You joined the contest after I sent this brief update, here is some info you MUST READ.
WHAT IS THE BRAND
"Venditore Vincente" is the brand of a new training company selling training for sales people. The meaning is " Winning Sales person".
The payoff says "Il primo sistema di vendita in Italia" meaning "The first sales system in Italy".
WHAT WE WANT THE LOGO TO COMMUNICATE
These are ideas you can work with. We aren't expecting the logo communicates ALL these ideas. Any can work.
- This is a solid system that works - No frill, very practical like you salesman - Strong and effective - This makes you a Winning Sales Person - Evoluiton of a salesman (from mediocre to winning)
So the KEYWORDS you can work on are:
- System - Evolution - Winning Sales - Reaching for the Stars
MUST
- Horizontal logo
COLORS
- Any color you think can work for this logo will be considered.
As you see the new brief is leaves you much more free to express your creativity.
HOWEVER, if your creativity will not be in brief, communicating what we want to communicate it will be ranked as "not interesting".
In short, I ask you to put your mind and find the right synthesis of symbols, colors and fonts that communicate the above things. We will prize creativity AND professionalism (right font, kerning, taste and eye for legibility).
Start now and let's see who is the Winning Designer!
I want to tell you that you're not #1 only because we want an Horizontal logo and yours has a vertical expansion (it works this way but we want our logo to be horizontal).
So, please provide us with a Horizontal solution (the symbol hasn't to be befor the brand name, do what your design experience suggest).
I'd also like to see a version with red instead of blue.
design update bases on feedback...in order for the icon to fit with the text I've added a perspective to it...also this creates a dynamic effect (action) which is represented by the distortion and looks like an arrow pointing upward
I appreciate the effort and the way you as a desinger can listen and work on feedback.
I sincerely think that in #309 we gain something in dynamic but we are losing a lot of the "solid" and "strenght" original effect. Can we just see #289 as an horizontal logo without the altered perspective, in two version, maybe original and red? Feel free to keep the original font if you think it works. Maybe you can also make an experiment and put the icon between Venditore and Vincente if your experience suggests it may work.
With the perspective your original symbol loses the strenght effect that made it so effective. The new version of the symbol (#317 and #318) is even worse. I ask you to go back to the ORIGINAL version of the symbol. Find a way to fit it in horizontal (this is what we need).
updates as request. I am not a fan of over used 3d effects in logo design for 1 simple reason readability...a 2 dimensional design is far easier to comprehend than a design that is overly busy with eye candy effects as demonstrated in my previous submissions. I uploaded those to prove a point.
I've gone back to non bold helvetica type face once again the standard typeface is easier to read over bold however all caps in this case do not work as well as the next submission
Helvetica in title case format. as you can see it is easier..with all caps and teh fact that both words are simialr in appearance makes the title case the best choice.
Entry #336 is what we asked, thanks. However, the "diamond" probably works better with the color you chose at the begining: with black and red you miss the effect. So I'd like to see this version but with the original color.
I appreciate you tried the diamond in the middle of the brand name but it's crammed and doesn't work (I had tried myself with the initial logo we had before going to logotournament).
We don't think the other proposals you sent work for us: I have plenty of "V" symbols. Either is something entirely new (see "new" brief) or nothing.
I cannot find anymore the version of the "red diamond" with the BOLD fonts. I am sure you sumbitted it but it's no more here. Can you resubmit it please?
Your #289 is the logo we like the most. It has a few shortcomings, however:
1) The Payoff is written wrong, the right version is "Il primo sistema di vendita in Italia" 2) The logo is more vertical than horizontal and our must was to have an horizontal logo. However, we don't know if putting the symbol next to the brand name will work as well 3) I am not convinced of the "light" font but it seems to work so well. However, I'd like to see "vincente" in bold and "venditore" light, the opposite of the version you made
So I definitely ask you to do all these changes and resubmit.
Our feeling is that your recent symbol is bigger than the one in the original #289. We feel that size works better than this bigger one and we'd like to see the most recent versions with the smaller "diamond". Also definitely the gradient on the word "venditore" doesn't work well (in the first black background version). Maybe grey instead of white? Or all light blue? Or light blue and grey? We ask you to do some variants.
