Thanks for the entries Foss - here's my feedback...
#85 - I think I see what you're doing (mixing V and E), but it still reads like a large E. My first thought when I saw it was the Enron logo, an unfortunate association. I brought up the Enron logo to compare, and although there are differences, they are close enough that others will make the association, too...
#84 I'm going to leave in for awhile - want to give that one some more thought.
#83 - cool design, but my first impression (and the first impression of our office manager) was "Mickey Mouse" - it looks a like a great design for Epcot signage, but not a good fit for us.
#82 - not the right feel for us. Again, I like all of your designs as designs - well thought through and put together, just not capturing the image of our fund. This one feels like a combo of high tech and banknote - not bad, just not us.
#208 - OK, it doesn't any simpler (or less playful) than this, but can't help loving how classic and classy this looks. And agree that boxing the "V" makes more sense than boxing the "E" as in #209
foss #209 is growing on me, and also one of my partners. if you have any variations - color (slate blue?) or treatment (that doesn't the classy feel) would love to see them...
