Logo Designer
Hi Valesa,

my first concept (my research about Alaskan feel" in underway),
based from contest stylistic sliders and your guidance in contest discussion
about "a logo that can look great small (on business cards) as well as large (on signs)" and able to look good in black & white for letterhead (or have a black & white version).

Please feel free to ask required adjustments.

Thanks!

Okay, sorry for misunderstand of outdoorsy.
I'll find new concept about fishing, etc....

Thanks!

I'm new to this...how do I post to your designer page? Do I send you a private message from your page, or do I just respond here?

And I do like the mountains, which feel Alaskan to me, although my original idea was to incorporate a silhouette of the state. I would like Alaskan as well as fishing & real estate to be represented, if that's possible without it becoming too intricate.

yes you're right about mountains ,
my concept only based your stylistic sliders and maybe trying to say "hello I'm Alaska Home" to your clients.

By the way...
I still find some nice fishing+real estate+alaska to be represented. :)

thanks!

an Abstract "VL" Letterform.

#3: I like that you put my name & slogan to the side so that the logo could be used as a stand-alone or with my name. I also like the way you did the fish, but I like the feel of the first logo better...it seems a little more Alaskan with the mountains, the houses are easier to see, and it's not quite as abstract.

I think the concept of the abstract VL is really clever, but the way it's come together isn't quite what I'm looking for.

I'd also like my slogan to stand out just a bit more, since it's my catch phrase and describes what I do & who I am.

Hi there. I've talked with my website designer & my husband, and they both agree that the feel of the 1st logo is better for me. I really like it, if we can make it a little more stand alone and maybe do something with the fly fishing. I'd also like the slogan to be a bit more prominent. I really like your designs...I think you've come up with a couple of great logo ideas.

Thanks Valesa,
Yes, I'm still find to make little more stand alone and putting fly fishing in there.
I'll send other ideas in soon as possb...thanks a bunch for great feedback.

I really like this new design. Thank you so much for taking my comments and working so hard on a great concept! I will have a few comments to tweak it, but I need to think about it for a bit.

Okay, after looking at this for a while and asking a couple of people, I realize that the fish looks more like a goldfish. I've uploaded 2 photos of me with salmon, and I'd like the fish to have a little more of a salmon shape (longer, narrower & without a forked tail). Salmon are a really Alaskan fish, and what most people up here like to fish for.

I don't know about the fish color...gold makes it too much like a goldfish. Maybe a dark blue or a silver color?

I'm also thinking that with this logo, the mountains don't stand out quite as much. Maybe a little taller & sharper? Not quite harsh points, but not quite so soft either. I'm also thinking I might like the mountains to be a purple or light purple color. Thanks!

I really love this new look, but my concern is that the logo might be getting a bit complicated, and I don't know how well this will work in a small format like a business card, or on a sign where there is a lot of information they need to take in while driving by the property. I like all the trees, but I think that maybe some of them should come out to give it a simpler look. I'd love your thoughts on this. I do like the purple mountains, and the fish looks much better.

Since your mountains aren't very sharp & pointy, I think they might lend themselves to take on the shape of a famous mountain that can be seen from Anchorage, called Mount Susitna (nicknamed the Sleeping Lady because she looks a little like a woman lying on her side). I'll see if I can find a few good pictures of Sleeping Lady to see if maybe the mountain shape can be a little more like her (don't know if this is possible while still keeping it fairly simple and clean looking).

I'm also wondering how it would look if you put my slogan across the entire bottom of the logo to make it larger & stand out a bit more.

Okay, found a few good photos on Flickr. I don't know if it would be easy to incorporate this shape a little into the mountains in the background.

Thanks!, I knew the color is much better, your idea about purple mountains that's great!,
but I can't handle the complicated view with 7 elements in one realtor logo... :(
maybe I must choose two/three of them without losing the realtor taste.

our focus to review is needed,
if there is mistake in placing the elements, your logo will say "I'm a travel agent to Alaska"

and many thanks for photos, very useful to inspiring new ideas.
I'll send another ideas to simplify and still based on your parameters.

again, thanks!

That is the difficulty, keeping this looking clean & simple while still pertaining to real estate. Thank you so much for putting so much effort into this. I have to compromise between a great looking piece of art and a simple logo, and that's where I'm having trouble.

I love the look of the new logo with Mt. Susitna, but again I'm wondering if it's too complex. I don't know if it would make sense to just have 1 house (not just a roof), or maybe just 2 roofs and move the fish up to make it a little less complicated and a little smaller? I'm torn, because I think it looks really great. I'm just not sure how it would look on business cards, signs, my car, letterhead, etc. because there is so much there.

I think later today I'll post the logo I've been using to give everyone an idea of where I was and maybe spark some new ideas.

I do like how you made the "to Alaska" stand out better in this one, followed by "real estate", although it might make more sense to make "Alaska Real Estate" stand out.

What if you just had a silhouette of a house in black in front of Mt. Susitna with a purple window, then 1 green tree and the fish & fly rod? That might make it look simpler and cleaner.

with mountains, I think we have element paradox in there...
how about #12 https://logotournament.com/images/entries/52721472466-350.jpg ?
maybe better if no mountains, it just enough with tree and river to say" yes, we have mountain in backyard".

Client
I like #12, it has a nice simple feel. I think it might have lost a little of the Alaskan feel, but it's clean & simple.

I'd still like to maybe have you try to make #10 a little simpler, maybe with the mountain just a flat purple with a house silhouette in front and the fly rod & fish from #12, if you think that would look good.

I really like #12, but something's not quite right for me. I'm not sure what. I think the trees are a bit odd. I was wondering if maybe you could make the one on the right fireweed, or maybe some fireweed in front of the house? Fireweed is a tall plant with pinkish/purple flowers, which is very Alaskan.

Here are a few examples (and I'm thinking of it being a little more abstract, but this is to give you an idea of what it looks like):

I really like #20. I like the look of the fireweed in 21 & 22, but I think it makes it a little too busy again.

Can you try to sort of combine the logo look of #20 with the bottom of #10? I kind of like the idea of the fly rod finishing off the bottom of the picture (kind of like the line you put under #22 to finish it off) instead of being in the picture. I'm thinking that I like the smaller silhouette fish of #20 better, but I like how you made my slogan stand out in #10.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense.

Alaska is 3 hours behind the time posted here, so I was commenting around 11:30 pm my time, then I went to bed. Thank you for your concern :-)

I really like the concept of #24, and I'm wondering how it would look with #22. Instead of the fly rod being in the roof, the bottom line could be the fly rod with a line & the fish. #22 seems a little simpler & less complex to me. I would remove the large fireweed...it looks nice, but again I think it needs to be just a little less complex.

I'm also wondering if we could do that with #12, which was a nice simple design. I think I like the idea of the bottom line being the fly rod instead of it being part of the roof. I also am not fond of the trees in design 12. I don't know if a simple patch of fireweed can be worked into that design to make it a little more Alaskan.

Thank you so much for all your hard work!

Logo Designer
feel free to ask required adjustments,

btw,
this concept is limit only five colors according to your parameters,
if you want a flat color, sky blue gradation will be deleted, and do not worry, in the last days ( or last hours) maybe designers will send their designs after they can read what you want, about the color, style and expression of the design of your, but this is what I call the process of creating a logo and I appreciated of this process, thanks a bunch for your clear and to the point feedback.

I like the new idea & simpler design of #31. 2 comments...can my name stand out a bit more, and can you make the fireweed a little smaller clump beside the house, more like #28? My mom thought it looked like the houses were on fire :-)

Client
I really like #32. It's less complicated but still has the elements in it. I like the lines at the bottom that represent fireweed & grass...it gives it a nice clean feel.

I don't know that there is much else to do with this design, so I'm wondering if you could try something like one of the ideas I posted under general comments.

I want to let you know how much I appreciate all your hard work. You are a great designer!

Hmmmm...I really like the feel of #36. I like the more substantial house. What if you just left the fireweed on the left, then took out the pink stripe & the fireweed on the right & just left the green stripe? And I'm not sure I like the red fly rod....maybe another color? I'd like you to try this slight change on this design, and also the changes I mention in the next paragraph.

And can you try the design of #32 with this style of house? I think I like the more substantial house better. Maybe even try what I mentioned above but with a bit of a purple mountain on the right side in the background (or maybe a hint of a mountain like #29). Because of the roof line maybe it could be like #32 but reversed, with the fly rod & mountain on the right side.

I love how you keep working through this with me...you've done some amazing designs!

I also want to let you know that when I put logos in the Not Interested category, it's to declutter my work space. Usually it's an earlier version of a logo I really like, it doesn't mean I don't like it. I think all your designs have been great!

#87 & 88 are interesting concepts. I'm not sure I like the fly rod splitting the state in half....what if you put it as the right side border?

Another thought is maybe have a small fish on the end of the fly line where Anchorage is instead of a star...would that work?

Client
#92--I really like the concept, but something's not quite right. I think it may be the shape of the state...it's a little too tall and not quite the right shape.

Client
The state looks better, but I'm not sure that I like the wording going across the state at the bottom.

I'm also not sure if it needs the square box. What if you brought my name down to the top of the state, ending at the edge of the fly rod? Maybe even stack my name with my last name indented just a bit and my first name on top a little larger font...would that look good?

#97 is a new design that I kind of like, but I'm not a fan of the trees. The other thing I notice is that with my name & slogan the way they are, it almost looks like 2 separate logos. Maybe my name on top and slogan at the bottom?

I don't remember #97. I didn't remember you having the mountain in that design. Maybe I never saw it.

I'm about to go to bed, but I have a new idea I'd like to suggest. What if you took the elements from the one I have ranked in first place right now (#67 or #39), and made my slogan part of it. I was thinking you could have my name at the top, then the fly rod horizontal under my name, then Your Guide to, under that the Sleeping Lady mountain with Alaska against it, then under that the house with Real Estate next to it. I'm really tired, so I'm not sure if that makes sense. Maybe against the house or against Alaska have a small patch of fireweed.

I like the smaller fish & the way the fly rod looks better in #105, and the overall look, but I just don't like the lettering going across the state at the bottom. And there still is something that feels a little off to me, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe the state shape is still a little off, or maybe that style of house looks odd...my husband thinks it looks a bit like a face with the houses being eyes. Maybe make just one house, and make it a little more of a full house instead of just the roof (like one house from #67).

I'm not sure what needs to be done to make it work better.

I'd still like to see what you can do with working my slogan into the actual logo, maybe a few versions including one using the comment I made last night.

Thank you!

I still really like #114, but want to see if it can incorporate my slogan a little more and have fewer elements. Can you do my name with the fly rod under it, then Your Guide to, then under that the faint mountain (like #39) with Alaska over it or slightly under it, then below that the 2 houses with Real Estate next to it?

I haven't made my decision yet. I've just grouped similar logos together for now so I can compare them more easily. There are at least 4 different logos that I think would work really well, and I'm having trouble deciding which way to go. I'll probably ask to see my top 4 logos against a maroon background to see how they'd look on a sign or my car once I figure it out.

I really want to thank you for all your hard work...you've done some really great designs for me.

Hi Valesa,

There are some things that have become the big question in mind that this is exactly what type of logo you want, and that the message to convey with the logo, but I think you have a very nice contest with unique concept.

as your designer, at least I've clear concept to convey about Alaska Real Estate, breathtaking nature-view, and your professionalism, and timeless design in blends of classic and modern logo and can easily adapt in a variety of real estate market conditions.

with all executions in the logo design is complete and united not divided into several partial information,
I hope you feel comfortable in the environment of this contest, if there are changes you want, please feel free to ask.

Honestly, at this point I don't really know what I want either. There are some beautiful options, and I'm torn with going with something a little more complex yet beautiful, or something a little more simple and easier to brand.

You've done some really wonderful work, and at this point I'm asking clients & colleagues their opinion. There are at least 10-12 designs here (many of them yours) that would make excellent logos.

I really appreciate all your hard work...I just wish this were an easier decision.

Thank you.
