Hi DonGato! Thanks for the revisions - I like where you are going and I think a hybrid of #4 and #27 would be great - so, more color than #4, but not necessarily the full rainbow spectrum. With the fewer colors, wider stripes would be possible, too. I'd like to see the words in a color other than gray. Also, I think I prefer the font you originally used in #4 for the word Shades, but I'm not 100% sure - maybe the one used in #27 is just a little too bold.
Actually, as I'm looking at the designs again, I think one of aspects of #4 that appealed to me at first is that the proportion reminds me of the proportions of my actual shades, whereas the new ones look more square.
Hi DonGato! Thanks for the new logos - can we try some different colors? I'm not crazy about the ones so far. I like the teal and blue, not so much on the orange and red. And, can we try something using the dimensions from your entry #4? So, same font for the words (but in a color) and maybe in the same area where the two orange stripes are work in three stripes of different colors with a little white in between?
Hi! Thanks for all of the color combinations - I like several of them, but I don't have time to rank everything right now, so I wanted to just give a quick nod to the new combos and design. So, I'll try to give better feedback this evening. Although I personally like the Brown/Taupe/Teal combinations I don't think those colors convey the "fun" aspect of my product.
Hey DonGato! You are not going to make this easy for me! Love the new direction :-) So, between #62 and #65, can I see a version with the colors in #62, with "shades" written in the font used in #65 in purple? Thank you! Sue
Hello Sue, thank you for the feedback. Here's the revised logo. I'm not making it harder...I'm making it easier for you to pick the right logo for your business. The glass is half full. think+
DonGato - you're going to kill me...I'm so sorry if I seem like I don't know what I want! All of the beautiful designs are just a little overwhelming for me! Even though I asked to see #65 in different colors in my last post, I am drawn back to those colors! I need to strike a balance between my 2 target markets - parents of young kids, and the coastal community homeowners. I think #65 is perfect to capture that cool, beachy feel, but still "fun" enough to grab the attention of the young children's parents...so now I'm thinking about your original theme - how about if we do #65 in the format of most of your other designs - the same blues for the stripes, with upside written sideways, and "shades" in the font used in #65.
And now a minor point - is there any way that the e and s in "shades" can be connected from the bottom rather than from the e crossbar (or whatever it's called). If not, do you think it would look okay if they weren't connected at all (like the s and the h at the beginning of the word).
Color is a secondary choice. The rules for a great logo are:
Shape Color Text/fonts
If you like the shape of the logo, colors can be changed very fast and easy. Can you print out the 2 logos you like and place them inside of a book, randomly in any page. Put the book down, get some coffee or tea, pick up the book a few hours later, and thumb through the pages, when you get to one logo, pause, take it in, then keep flipping pages until you see the second logo. take it in. Close the book, now see which one comes to your mind first. That's the one you want.
Hello Sue, here's another version with horizontal shades. Gives you a cool ocean breeze feel. By changing the color of Upside to gray, the blues pop and the word shades is dominant. After all, that is what you are selling. Thanks, DonGato
