Thank you for your entry. We opted not to go with it because it used a symbol (inverted tear drop) that we are trying to avoid in a very prominent way. We hope you will review our feedback and make further entries.

Thank you,

Hi Creative Soul,

Thanks for the logo ideas. The team is intrigued with the concept and wonders if there is a way to show something under the peeled off layers of the globe. Is there a way to show a schematic or other elements that are exposed by peeling back the "surface"?

Thank you,
~ Rick

Congratulations on making it to the top 5! If you can respond with some options from the comments above that will help us with our final decision.

Thanks,

Thanks Creative,

Rather than a simple core, I think we were imagining something more like a subsurface network or schematic, perhaps like:

We want to see that there is something under the surface that we're revealing. Hope that helps.

Thanks!

If it makes it easier to see the subsurface by removing one or some of the surface segments, that is a possibility too. Use your creative judgment.

Thanks Creative,

We have our final decisions in about two hours. If there is any way to make the subsurface network more bold and visible I think it will make for a stronger showing. Right now it is subtle when the logo is small.

Thanks again,

Hi Creative,

Congratulations on currently holding the #1 spot! We really like the logo and can see it being the winner. We asked friends for their opinions and, based on their feedback, would like some variants before making a final selection. Could you do the following:

1. Move the GIS symbol off the globe and under the "D" in GROUND (right justified). Since white won't be visible, can we try a light gray?

2. There was a complaint that there is not enough light/dark contrast between the globe shell (red) and the subsurface (blue). Can we try some other color combinations that make the difference between the two more apparent? We are open to your suggestions on tasteful color choices. You could even use gray for the outer shell.

3. If the results in request 2 above don't yield sufficient contrast, another idea was to make the blue/white schematic into a white/black schematic so that the globe is white and the schematic lines are black. That should work with virtually any color globe.

Thank you for your help. We look forward to closing the contest soon...

Cheers!

We have been advised by several to get away from red in the logo too. Hope that helps...

Any colors recommend sir?

Thank you, Creative. The only remaining concern is how the logo (the globe part) will look if we iconize it for a phone (e.g., iPhone or Android). Is there a way to simplify it so that it showed well on a phone?

Thanks,
~ Rick

The decision makers doubt that and one wants to consider another logo because of that fact. How can we demonstrate to him that the logo won't be too complex for a small format?

We will look at the contest on our phones to see how the current logo looks. Thanks.
