Good start dodihanz! I will be reviewing the preliminary designs with my team tomorrow morning and offering feedback at that time.

Cheers!

For #4 we liked the symbolism of the icon, though we are trying to get away from the inverted tear drop shape since other possible competitors use it.

For #7 one of our team liked the idea of splitting under/ground as you did. Some also liked the compass idea, though there was some concern about a compass representing old technology. If there was a way to modernize the compass to make it more high tech, that would be helpful.

Orange, it turns out, was not popular with our group.

Make sure you take note of the general design comments I made to everyone. For example, all of your new entries highlight the "GIS" portion of the name. That is something we are trying to make much more subtle.

Thanks!

There is something that I personally like about #27 related to the globe. I wonder if there is a way to show a subsurface network (ducts, pipes, etc.) without getting too complex. I'll take this up with our team tomorrow...

A couple of the team members asked if you could combine #4 & #7 into a single logo. They liked the stacked "Under/ground" in #7, but wanted you to move the teardrop icon found in #4 to replace the compass GIS element in #7. They would also like the letters "GIS" to be placed at the center of the teardrop icon. Let me know if my instructions are clear and if that is possible.

Thank you,
~ Rick

P.S. - One person in particular is not fond of orange. If you could try some different colors (e.g., blue or even red) that would be helpful.

Nice! I think #111 is what they had in mind. I'll find out at 4 PM today when the team reconvenes.

Thanks!

Would it be possible to see #111 in a couple of different colors? Perhaps blue and green? The yellow/orange color has not been popular.

Thanks!

Hi Dodihanz,

The only request from the team at this point is to see the word UNDER the same width as GROUND. They don't know if one word should be larger or just stretched/compressed. Please use your best judgment or give us variants to evaluate. The other request is to try a different font. The font used in entry #8 was popular with the team. I hope you can make these changes before our next team meeting at 10 AM tomorrow morning (california/pacific time).

Thank you,
~ Rick

Hi Dodihanz,

Thank you for the other logo iterations. The team has made another couple of requests that we hope you can satisfy with entry #116.

1. Can you shrink the symbol. It appears to be too prominent
2. Instead of making UNDER bigger or wider, can we simply center if over GROUND?
3. Could we try placing a line between UNDER and GROUND?
4. This one may be challenging... they would like to see the symbol (the inverted teardrop) look something like the letter "U." They aren't sure what they want, but they want it to look U-like. Perhaps coloring the 9-12 [clock] region red like it already is for the 12-3 region?

Thank you again for your continuing labors.

Cheers!

Hi Dodihanz,

Almost. For entry #139, can you turn it upside down please. The symbol should still be pointing down. They wondered if there was a say to make it look more "U"-like too.

Thanks,
~ Rick

Congratulations on making it to the top 5! The team likes the design and only asks that the dark part of the tear drop be made to look more like a letter "U." Thank you. :-)
