FEEDBACK FROM ANOTHER ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF OUR DECISION COMMITTEE:
I’m not against film in out logo, provided it is done well...we could benefit from a less film centric logo, at the same time it is the most logical choice.
I don’t feel that we *must* have a block M in the logo. I’m not against it, but more often than not the attempts to add it, ruin the ascetic of the logo. Simply association by color choice is good enough for me.
Logos I like are #52, #21 and #45. ...
#45 – I feel needs a border around it, a better font choice for UMEC and a change in colors, all which seem reasonable requests.
#52 – I like what has been done with the UMEC (the dual colors and arc), but the circle thing at the side doesn’t work for me. An alternative glyph, is what were looking for, but not the “soviet-era” chevrons that one designer seems so set upon.
#21 – I find the most attractive logo all around. I particularly like the font choice for the UMEC, it’s well balanced, but I don’t really feel it’s the most suited for our organization.

One alternate suggestion might be to ask for a logo modeled off of …

...an aside… if we are going for a block M, please keep it out of the UMEC… they’re a difficult 4 letters to put together to begin with, putting a block M in there destroys whatever balance they might have had.
Another designs I quite like:
https://logotournament.com/contests/12400 (wining entry) .. stick in a big M and “university of Michigan entertainment coalition” and drop out the UMEC completely.
Along those lines, maybe asking that the UMEC be dropped would inspire some different looks. …I’ve noticed there are virtually no four letter logos to be found. And, no relation to us, but just because it’s cool check out the winning entry for
