#6 is a great basic design, but I think the colors could use some adjusting...
The Green arrow and the Gold building need to have some gradient / sheen to it! Looks like the gold has some kind of gradient but I'm not sure if it's right yet...
The colors need adjusting: Can you try a lighter gold color? (or maybe just increasing the gradient will work) ... and a darker green color? (again increase the gradient)
I've updated the sample images: http://imgur.com/a/o5CLa Look at the colors of the buttons and make it resemble a simple classic calculator as much as possible. Most calculators have only one red button... It could be a double button (make it larger, like two of the buttons connected) on either the bottom left or the bottom right that would resemble a door.
Maybe make the window at the top white (currently black) and the top row of buttons light blue with gradient (currently white and red)... maybe all of the buttons except for the red one would be light blue with gradient (or white/gray/silver!) ... or black, with white symbols if that works better.
Symbols can include "1", "2", "3", "+", "-","%","x", "#", "*", "C" "M" and "=" or any combination.
Feel free to submit as many variations as you like.
You have a very good chance of winning this contest but I need you respond to my communication a bit better please.
If you want to keep the 16 button design (#22), then make the buttons look like a real calculator.... Make the top row blue with the top right button red... no symbols are needed on the blue buttons...
The 9 button design was ok too. Usually simpler is better, but the button colors and symbols need to be right.
leave the buttons on the right side the way that they are. fill in the remaining 9 buttons with the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. that forms a square in the bottom left.
stick to the design in #22 or #6... I do not need to see how it looks with white letters on a black background.
Please go back and read my notes in the general section and do some variations on these designs #22 and #6.
Only the colors of the buttons and the window needs work at this point... the design is fine. Please post many variations so that I can see how they compare.
We are getting much closer now and thank you again for the variations. I do think you will be the winner but we are not finished yet. I'm going to ask you to do another round of variations please... This time will be easier but feel free to submit many variations.
Were you able to open the link? if not it's not a big deal... you could send me an email address and I could send you an exact picture of how to do the buttons but at this point your design for #46 is perfect we just need to keep working on the button colors and the symbols.
Google search "calculator "in google images to see how the symbols are usually laid out, or I can email you a picture if you want to send your email address, or I can post it on a sample image for this contest thru logotournament.
Otherwise, follow these instructions:
1) Let's go with #46 but put the red button in the bottom left instead of the top right... (like #45) Let's put a white "C" in that red button for the symbol.
2) Try using one tall button in the bottom right corner (like #45), except that the one in #45 was way too big... It's supposed to be only two rows tall, not three rows tall, like #45 is now. Also it should not be any wider than the other buttons... Let's make this button white or black and let's put the "+" or the "=" symbol there.
3) The rest of the buttons can be white with black symbols (like #46).
4) Use the "√" symbol for the white button above the red button.
5) Use the "%" symbol for the button above the "%" button and make this button white, blue, or green.
6) On the bottom row in the center, use the "0" number for a symbol or the "=" or "." symbol
7) For the button that is above the "+" button in the bottom right corner, use a "-" symbol.
8) The buttons in the center column could have the numbers (from top to bottom): 1, 2, 3 for their symbols and these buttons should be white.
Here are some variations below you can try:
% 1 - √ 2 + C 3 + (The "+" would be only one button, not two)
OR
% 1 X √ 2 - C 3 +
OR
% ÷ X √ 1 - C 2 +
OR
% 1 X √ 2 - C . +
OR
% 1 X √ 2 - C 0 +
OR
% M - (the M button would be blue in this case, or green) √ 1 + C . + (The "+" would be only one button, not two)
It's really looking great now... #56 looks almost perfect! The symbols in #56 are the way to go but let's try one more thing to make it look sharper....
Keep the red button just the way that it is.... but change all of the white buttons to black buttons with white symbols.
Please submit one version like that... with black buttons... and then please submit another variation with sheen / gradient on those black buttons to compare if the gradient looks good or not.
If it's not too much trouble could you deliver the file without the white background (no background)? If you can, please deliver the following formts: Ai , EPS, png, and jpg files.
Also, if it's not too much trouble I would be interested in having a second version of the winning logo with a black background and white letters. like #23
If you need to email them, you already have my email address: thesonicproject@gmail.com
Hi Zaq, I'm still very pleased with the logo but I wanted to ask you one question about it: Could you please tell me what is the name of the font that you used in the logo? Thank you, Kam
