I decided to use an organic maple leaf as opposed to the more square conventional one used in the Canadian flag. The stem to this leaf however is an arrow that is an extension of the letter "N" in the word "North." I believe this logo is bold, stern, and is suitable to the idea of True North.
Thanks so much for the entry. I like the direction you have taken, and really like the arrow on the N, but I have some hesitation with the leaf as it sits. Perhaps a slightly different leaf (still non traditional), and a bit smaller? The effect of the N is hard to see at first glance as it sits now. I would really love a revision if u have the time. Thanks!
I agree with your comment. On second look the original submission had a presence of a tree. It would be best to shrink the leaf to proportion. Secondly I decided to study a maple leaf more closely and decided to focus on making the leaf more identifiable as a maple leaf. I've included three variations.
#40 is my favorite so far of your designs, my only change to it would be to make the "true" the same color as "north" on my computer they look like a slightly different hue right now
The original intention was to have the word "True" be a lighter grey than the word "North." I was looking to give it some contrast. After viewing it as the same color I agree that the contrast from the red leaf to the dark grey lettering is enough. However I did want to submit a revision with the word "True" in red.
