Hi,

nice job! Maybe try incorporating some small fields and or something that suggests a human settlement (farms). It can be subtle, as long as it is noticeable. Thanks!

Thanks. I'll have to let my boss rank all these later, but knowing him, I think he will like this one with the fields, while #12, the house is a little in your face (too big). Maybe add something tiny to the other side of the river across from the fields. Like if you zoom in super close in Illustrator or whatever you are using, it could be just multiple little houses like the one you made for #12, but in a farm cluster. Then on a smaller scale, it won't necessarily be visible in detail, but as a suggestion, but if blown up, one could see the detail.

Hi,

I just reviewed everything with the boss. He likes your designs a lot in terms of general feel and here are his comments (sorry, he changed his mind about a few things we thought we discussed before): 1. No circular shapes or other geometric shapes, he wants the logo to not be confined to a box or circle (try using mountains as the general shape), 2. He really liked the entry #8 in terms of color schemes, so maybe try to create something like that that is bigger, yet with the font like entry #10, except that the "INC" shouldn't be sideways (but still smaller), 3. Make sure there is some rudimentary type rural settlement along the river, but he didn't like the farm fields, 4. For entry #9, if you remove the box and add some subtle green mountain peaks in the background and maybe a hint of ocean at the bottom that the river flows into (plus the settlement), that could be really nice.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing more!!!

General notes (updated based on his new ideas):

- No circles or other geometric shapes for the overall logo
- Forget the "TSI" and the S as the river, he changed his mind
- The company name should be TOWNSCAPE INC. with the "INC." being smaller and more subtle
- Colors should be green for mountains and blue for streams, plus whatever else you think matches the design. Avoid red, orange, purple, pink
- Elements to include in the logo: mountainous landscape, stream(s), rural settlement, company name

Nice! I really like #47. Can you try adding a small farm or village to the riverside and show the stream going farther up into the mountain? It can be a thin line coming from the mountain. We also still like your #8, except for the circle part, so you may consider working on that some more and getting it into a similar format as #47 (i.e. not geometric). Again, add a farm or village. We will review everything with our boss again in 4-5 hours. Thanks!

Aloha,

my boss really likes the overall style of your designs $47, #53 and #54. He thinks the two little houses are too literal and not enough to show a settlement. He wants the village to look more "suggested", kind of like from an airplane, so maybe use little dots and lines instead of actual houses. I will post a picture in the contest brief to show you a picture he shared with me. If you could try to incorporate something like that into the existing design, that would have a lot of potential. I will review with the boss again in 5 hours. Thanks!

Hi,

congratulations, you made it to the Top 5 phase!

I look forward to seeing more revisions over the weekend!

Here are my bosses comments:

1. I like the general design and abstractness.
2. The white village is not very visible. Try to make it look a little more realistic, maybe with some browns and lines (rooftops). The location of the two villages in #102 is good, try to refine those. Keep in mind that this needs to be visible when printed small (on a business card) as well as when printed in black and white.
3. Try to add just a hint of ocean for the stream to connect to.
4. The font is nice, please make the graphic the same width as the text.

Hi, do you plan to submit any more entries? Otherwise I will put someone else in the #5 position to give them a chance. Thanks!

Thanks, I will forward to my boss. He still wants the company name to be the same width as the graphic though.

OK, here is his comment on your latest:

"Pretty good but village is now too busy. Need to emphasize: this is a LOGO not a painting. "

I am not 100% sure what he means because I think itʻs good, but I can give you more detail tomorrow. I think he means too many colors maybe.
