The saltire on a shield. Very exclusive looking

a thistle - iconic scotland/ gives the logo an "official" authentic feel.

Hi Glendon Thy're looking good, thanks. I've been thinking about the other entry you made which is now withdrawn. The reson it doesn't work for us is that the flag (saltire) is rather nationalist and political and we want to be Scottish but neutral, if you know what I mean. However, the shield that you used might work with the Thistle on it, especially in silver or grey. The logo will certainly be used at times without the words and the shield would be good as, for example, a lapel pin badge and as a crest on a certificate.

Here is a version of the shield with the thistle on it. I will upload a few more variations for you with different shield shapes as well as different color combos so you will have a few options to choose from.
Thanks for the feed back.
Cheers,
Glendon

I look forward to seeing the other variations. For the moment I have your #9 at #1 - I like the 'gleam' effect. Regards

Hi Glendon. The circular design is great would make an easy pin badge, coaster and many other useful things. I would still like to see other colour combinations. Also I would like to see something else with Scottish connections, other than a thistle, in your style. There is already a VisitScotland Thistle Award and it may cause some confusion. Would an animal or bird work? Perhaps a stag or a Golden Eagle?

Hi John,
I liked the circle one as well. It is just so simplistic and versatile.
I'll get started working on a few more designs for you using the stag and eagle. I'll also get the color options uploaded.
Thanks,
Glendon

Here is a version using the stag, but in a very unique way. The stags antlers are forming the leaves of the thistle!

Hi glendon. Thanks for all those additional designs. The stag ones are clever but don't seem to work as well as your thistle. Any more thoughts would be gratefully received. Regards John

Glendon,
We are dissapointed that you have instigated the removal of verhevan and inspired your latest efforts on his work - i.e the classic lion rampant. We cannot work with a person who does not practice Business Excellence and looks to win at all costs. This not our work ethic. Further entries by yourself will be immediately rejected. What a shame. John,
I am sorry you feel that way.
The use of clipart is against the rules of logo tournament. It is also unfair to the designers who have spent many hours working on designs and revisions for you. You may not see it this way, but I actually did you a favor. Had you purchased that design, you would not have been able to copyright it containing clipart.
I also instigated the removal of the design to not only protect my work, but the work of my fellow designers as well. The integrity of this site is something that is important to me, and I will continue to report clipart violations. We as designers all share the same goal, to get you the best logo that we can create.
Your haste judgement regarding my character is completely inaccurate and unfounded.
I will respect your wishes and will not submit any more designs.
I wish you the best of luck with the remainder of your contest. I am confident in the designers on this site being able to provide you with a logo you will fall in love with.
Cheers,
Glendon

Wow. What a waste of great (and original) design talent here now that you're no longer being considered for this contest, Glendon. I'm sorry I wasn't available to handle eeshu and vehaven's blatant violations of the code of conduct -- not to mention basic ethics -- but your integrity is commendable. It's too bad this happened, and I hope no one else gets treated as poorly as you have been. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

Let's hope both of these designers are immediately banned for their offenses.
