Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
To tie back into the general theme, I've used an anchor, and within the top of it, included a coffee bean.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
We love these designs. The lettering completely reflects the nautical theme! We were wondering, especially with design #36 if some of the words could be rearranged? such as Topside at the top with the Coffee Cabin more prominent in the center and then Est. 2014 at the bottom? We already own another business in the same building with the name Topside in it. We want our guests to know that we have something different to offer them, but are still part of the same company. We originally thought that we wouldn't want an anchor or obvious nautical icons in the design, but we were immediately drawn in when we saw these. I am curious though what it might look like with either some coffee beans or a coffee cup in place of the anchor. Just to see a different perspective.
Thanks for the great feedback and comments, always appreciated! Would be my pleasure to work up some variations, no problems at all. Will work on those now for you.
Will also change the anchor to something coffee related. Not sure if you noticed that the anchor actually has a coffee bean in the top ball part of the anchor?? Its very subtle.
And here are a few new variations with the changes applied. I've also found a few fonts that compliment the theme a bit more, and give it that overall vintage feel.
