Simple / iconic design featuring the mill and 3 fountain pens formed by the negative space. Feedback welcome.

Thanks for the feedback - here I've refined the nib symbol a little to make it more recognisable - they could also be interpreted at levers on machinery as well as a collective of writers.

Just putting my comments in here, instead of on the main page.

#7/8 Really striking design -- beautiful. You also really got at that WPA look we want. My concern is that the meaning of the negative space pen nib is just a little too hard to see. It took me a few minutes. Also trying to decide if we want the name to be more prominent.

#14 and #15 Thanks for being so responsive -- I really appreciate it. I like the idea with the new ones, but the gears seem a little isolated, like they don't completely fit. I like the name being more prominent, but the whole thing seems to be getting a little big. Also prefer the blue -- the red and black looks a little sinister to me.

Just wanted to reiterate how much I like your design -- love that you integrate the pen nib, lever, and what looks like a roofline into the logo. Genius.

I've been checking with people around the office, and a lot of them haven't been able to see the pen nibs. So I'm still concerned that it's a little too hard for people to catch. But I lack the skills to make a suggestion.

Thanks for all your work.

Thanks for the continued feedback - this is just my opinion and I am slightly biased :) - But I actually like the fact that you don't see they are pens unless you really think about it.

You mentioned yourself that its not absolutely necessary to illustrate 'writing' as part of the logo, so its there, but its not in your face. Its one for the thinkers :)

I'll have a think though and try something else.

Thanks so much -- sorry to be a pain.

Just to reiterate -- I think your design is awesome and striking. It's just that we had too many people who just didn't get it, so that's my concern. And in this fallen era, perhaps there aren't enough people who recognize pen nibs. Alas.

Thanks again for the great work, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hi -- thanks so much for your responsiveness. #26 is a nifty reversal of the image, if I'm reading it correctly. Only thing is that I think the earlier attempts are a little more forceful, which I liked. I preferred the deeper colors and all-caps. I also think this version might be a little too abstract. Reversing the positive/negative (and without the detail of the nibs), it starts to look a little like waves or shark fins.

Hope I'm not driving you around the bend. Thanks again.

A re-working of my original idea - no I'm not going round the bend!, thats how it works with healthy competition!

Thanks! I definitely prefer the filled font of 39 to 38, and like the name being more prominent. I'm still back to the nibs/abstraction issue we discussed before, but continue to really like the design.
