Slogan
Medical Education That Works
What We Do
We provide online continuing medical education courses to medical doctors. But, contrary to our company/site name, we don't actually offer online audio/video lectures. Rather, they are interactive, case-based, Q/A courses

Medical
Color Preferences
We do not have any color preferences OTHER than NOT highly saturated, such as our current color scheme. We do want colors that are much more complementary than the current orange, yellow, blue, and purple. And we don't need 4 colors necessarily.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We would rather have a simple (than a complex) logo and we would prefer not to use overworked medical symbols such as a cross or caduceus. The existing VLH logo has some good elements, including the subtle use of the letter "V", but seems flat and uninspired.

We actually have a logo (see versions above) that we want to use, but we need to ADD to and ADJUST this logo to make it communicate more than it does at present:

Our logo does not currently communicate anything about what our company does or what our site provides. It does not have any graphic elements that say "technically advanced online medical education." You can use the name of the site (The Virtual Lecture Hall) in the new logo design, as well as our tagline ("Medical Education That Works"). ALSO, you can change the colors (or desaturate the hues - anything), as we are not "married" to blue, yellow, orange, and purple (in fact, we'd like to see some different color schemes for sure). You can use beveling or shadowing (or not) as you wish. In fact, you can amend/add anything EXCEPT the shapes of the logo must remain the SAME.

#5 and #6 by jase48: Thanks for your submissions, but we do need the revised logo to contain the shape of our original logo. We want the new logo to communicate more effectively and include other elements that will take that logo to the next level. The designs ranked #1 and #2 both do a good job of extending the logo's ability to communicate in a new way.

Mangita and ARTIOBG: Many thanks for your submissions. In addition to any other ideas you might have, I'd like to see what your current highest-ranking designs would look like in other color schemes. Please know that we are not at all married to our current color scheme, which has actually been a bit of a pain to extend throughout the site. We're doing a much needed redesign at www.vlh.com, and the new logo will help to inform our site redesign team's color choices. The old colors are too stark and mis-matched, so we'd appreciate seeing a new palette of colors. Anything under the sun, but also keeping in mind that we are a professional education company that creates courses for doctors (so not too frou-frou, if you get what I mean ;-). Thanks!

We have re-ordered the designs based on new entries. Thanks to everyone for their creativity. As we look these over, we are understanding that it's better for us not to incorporate overused medical images, such as a cross or caduceus. Our hope is to communicate a contemporary approach to education, ideally by also referencing our brand (Virtual Lecture Hall). The existing logo does this by having a stylized "V" coming out of columns. Not a bad idea, but the colors are not working too well for us and the look is not contemporary. Additionally, since the logo will not be the featured part of our site, we would prefer that it not be too busy or complicated.
