We would like an image that more clearly conveys what we do and a more classic font. We would like to see our slogan "Heat Treating & Black Oxide Since 1963" incorporated into the design. We like the colors used but are open to other combinations as well.
Heat Treating is the process of hardening (or softening) steel. We take metal parts (tools, screws, gun parts, aircraft parts, molds, etc) and put them into furnaces that operate up to 2250 degrees F. We also have the capability to freeze parts down to -120 degrees F.
Hardening steel can be likened to the process of baking a cake or hard boiling an egg. You start off with soft metal and depending on the material and process, you can give it a uniform hardness all the way through (like a cake) or just make it hard at the surface with a soft center (like a hard boiled egg).
We like design #6, #12 & #11 the best so far. We like that you incorporated the flame into the logo and took our feedback on the font. We like #6 because the hexagonal shape is a common shape of steel that we frequently heat treat. We like #12 because it resembles a gear which we also heat treat on a regular basis. #11 is interesting because it actually incorporates both the hex and the gear. We would like to see variations on each of these logos. A suggestion for improvement on #12 would be to make it resemble a gear even more with additional flames on the inner diameter. Maybe just give a couple variations on #6 as well. We would like to see additional color schemes for #11.
I really like this design!! Could you submit another entry that incorporates something from the aerospace indiustry such as an airplane or a helicopter? We heat treat many many parts that are for airplanes and helicopters. Thanks!!
