The NOLA Oral history project seeks to record, document, and share the experiences of those who gave of their lives to bring back New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Color Preferences
I believe I would like to see green. People who were at ground zero of the storm and those who came in the first year described their shock at how gray the city was–how it was so washed out by the storm despite being a lush semi-tropical environment. And I recall one volunteer organization that chose green as its colors as a symbol of hope.
