#19 The pictoral mark (the chain) is too large, it is distracting from "The Moto Channel" lettering, which is the most important part of the logo.
Although the chain is a part of a motorcycle it doesn't convey anything about the passion of motorcycling. Also it's too generic. It could be part of a bicycle.
#20 Trinova, thanks for the effort but we don't like the tire mark. Again, it doesn't convey the passion of motorcycling to us. Also, the word THE is too small, and it should be in line with "Moto" and "Channel". Also you have no space between "Moto" and "Channel". We want a space between each of the words.
Perhaps you could simplify your task by concentrating on the Wordmark and omitting the Pictoral Mark for the next submission, so don't put any motorcycle or motorcycle symbols. Just concentrate on the three words, as that is the most important part of the logo.
Also, instead of incorporating color variety by having each word a different color, why not have all letters the same multi-color (two colors?). Just as a starting point, you may use colors like red, blue, orange or yellow (just to name a few). So you could try all letters red, with a blue border, or red with an orange border. Or maybe one color with a black border or a grey border. As for the font and font size, we don't know if they should all be the same size or same font or different sizes and fonts for each word.
We have posted on our website examples of motorcycle art that we feel capture the action, passion, and excitement of motorcycling (which are the top three things to communicate through our logo) in order to clarify what we are looking for in a Pictoral Mark.
We think that IF you design a similar image (remember that you are not limited to these examples), it should be located to the left of the words, as they each depict a motorcyclist moving to the right, which would draw attention towards the words "The Moto Channel".
Please do not feel limited by these examples. We are open to any and every suggestion you might have. Thanks!
#76 Good try! But remember we want some space between the three words. Also, although the Pictoral Mark does depict action, it is not nearly as much action as the motorcycles in the art samples we provided on our web site:
"OK, I will try to find ways to make a pictorial mark with more action, but still I am not sure if it may seem perfectly with 721 pixels wide by 172 pixels high it's very unpredictable.
#99 Thank you for the effort but this is not an improvement over #94. We stated that your Pictoral Mark did not depict enough action, but we didn't mean to add another motorcycle. The Pictoral Mark should have only one motorcycle, so the only way to depict more action is to get a different motorcycle. As we wrote before, if you refer to our page:
#121 and #122 Well we prefer the fonts in these designs to those of #94. But these designs are not any improvement over #94. The Pictoral Mark stills does not depict any action. It looks like the same Pictoral Mark image from #94 but from a slightly different angle and with lines drawn. The lines do not show any movement or action, they are just distracting.
As we wrote twice before, if you refer to our page:
Sorry, Actually I am not sure what kind of action illustrations of pictorial mark, and illustration of vintage race, or a custom bike, or touring style, it seems confusing to me about "depict of action"
last night, I re draw my photographs when cornering with my BSA, but I'm not sure when reviewing in small size...it looks like an accident or falling when cornering. and now I'm in deadlock.
btw, Thanks for your feedback and good luck with your great contest.
